GC update

The four of us met with our RE today. From the medical history questions he had for our GC, she passed with no problems.
She will be doing all of the screening with a physical, mammogram, ekg, etc. with her primary care. We are very lucky in that everything infertility will be covered through our infertility coverage which will help a lot!

She flustered our RE several times with her straight forward questions and humorous sarcasm. I enjoyed that thoroughly.

The one hiccup (you knew there had to be one) is that according to our RE's protocols/FDA/Indiana state law (whatever...) our frozen embryos have to be quarantined for six months. Since we did our last IVF in August, that puts our FET into our GC in February.

I was assuming it wouldn't be until January because we still have the psych eval and legalities to deal with, but I hate getting thrown a delay.

However, I slowly realized it is not all bad. I am a professor and I have spent every single off time in the two past academic years for fertility treatments. We get a month off for Christmas break and I am kind of looking forward to just chilling and recuperating with my husband. We are just plain tired and depleted after a year of 3 IVFs, 2 FETs and 3 m/c.

We even decided to just stay home for Christmas and take care of a friend of mine who has to have her hip replaced two weeks before Christmas and her family is leaving on the 23rd of December. Just mh, myself, my friend, and the puppy.

Re: GC update

  • Glad that your meeting went well today! I'm sorry about the delay but the small break sounds like a good idea even though I know your anxious to get started.

It is so very nice of you to help your friend out! Sorry with all that's happened but thinking only positives thoughts for you and the GC!!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014

Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
