Ok so I need to vent.
Yesterday while leaving class I accidentally bumped into someone's car in the parking lot. I have never been in an accident of any kind let alone a ticket. I was so embarrassed for the fact it was in a parking lot and a parked car for that matter of which I did not see at all! I got out checked damages and took photos of both. All I had was like dirt scuff on mine (which came right of when I wiped my hand across it) and hers was scuffed as well. I waited an HOUR and a HALF in the heat for this driver to come out and they never did so I wrote a note explaining what happened and apologizing and left my name and number in case she wanted to exchange Info.
This lady calls me about an hour after I get home and is yelling at me saying I busted out her tail light and it's laying all on the ground! That campus security is coming etc etc etc.
....WTF!
I had my toddler and I'm 24 weeks pregnant so my inlaws (who are law enforcement back home) told me if she was already acting hostile I don't need to go alone and call an officer to just be with me. I'm out thinking well I left the scene I'm in so much trouble. (I became hysterical crying and shaking)
2 officers meet me somewhere, lady doesn't answer their calls and tey say well it was on private property we can't investigate it but if she doesn't answer that's on her.
Out of no where this trooper comes up, and "takes over" ...complete asshole!! Did not know anything and said he was just listening onthe radio. Started interogatting me on why I left the scene and that he's taking me over to talk to her and face her. We get there and I see it and there is a SLIVER of her taillight missing onthe bottom of the light. I show them my pics and he zooms in and flipping my phone around and is like what's this? And I look and it appears to be a light. So that's what I said. I honestly did NOT see it. Why would I show you a photo defending myself if it was incriminating me??
So the trooper rolls his eyes and she just giggles. (She would never look at me in my eyes if I talked to her my hub noticed) I told her I apologize I did not see it or I would've led that on the note too it was my mistake. She goes onto tell the officer that yea sir I wouldn't have even noticed. I got in my car and just saw the paper flipping in the wind..
So you are going to be a major bitch to someone who could've just drove off?!!! I was being honest and didn't want that on my mind!!! I believe in karma!
Ugh! The whole thing was blown so far out of proportion and the trooper was trying to find a reason to fine me. He said the only reason I wasn't getting one for leaving the scene was because I left her my note. He tried every other direction though! Where you texting, on the phone, was your seatbelt on?! Why did you hit her car?!
Sorry it's so long but yes I understand it was my fault but seriously it could've been handled so much better... I just needed to vent.

Obviously you were at fault and admitted what happened, FFS people make mistakes. Honestly talk about first world problems - my light is cracked?!?! SMH.
No one wants damage, no matter how minor, to their car. So I get it, she's bummed. But really, you can still be a decent person and realize it's NBD and move on. Calling the cops/stuff is way overboard for this scenario.
::hugs::
I am proud for what I did because I did do the right thing. I just ugh!!!
Thanks for the love ladies! Atleast I know I'm not crazy and being overly dramatic. She was a bitch. And as @sakura0019 said a twatwaffle!
@magentawarped yea I live in FL too!! So I was like dang really?!
