Late Term and Child Loss

2 Month Anniversary

Today marks two months since we lost Parker Jane. DH and I handled it better than I thought we would. Again, grieving comes when it wants to and I'm learning that I will never figure out when it is triggered. What triggers me one time might not trigger me at another.

My heart goes out to all the women on this board. Also, I want to thank all of you for the support through this horrible time. This community has been so helpful for me. I didn't know how much I needed this outlet until I began posting here. I hope others are finding the same comfort. Thank you all so much. Much love to this board!

  • Thank you, ladies. I actually had a breakdown after posting this. I was taking a bath and DH was in bed watching some video on the iPad. During the video playing, a baby started crying. I got so sad and started crying. It took everything I had just to get myself out of the bathtub. I'm doing fine now, but last night ended badly. Thank you for all the support.

  • @ajcagle82. Maybe our angels celebrated together.
I hope you are feeling better. On our angel-versary DH and I watched one of our favorite shows with snacks and such. Turned out one of the pregnant characters suffers a late loss, needless to say there was a whole lot of sobbing on my part.  DH kept apologizing and felt so bad even though it wasn't his fault.

  • @neptunebljc, we had that same experience last week. We were watching a show, there was a late term loss, but the baby was brought back to life. DH and I just looked at each other and said "If only it were that easy." I'm sorry you had to experience that. It seems like baby loss or pregnancy is around every corner and it is so hard to shield yourself from it. Is your anniversary also on the 6th of each month? I like to think that all our angels know each other and play together since we are pulling together as a community to support each other through all this.

  • Mine is the 7th, not 6th, but still close. I gave birth at 1am.
I think after a loss, you also become more sensitive to it. Others may not realize how much watching people on TV go through it, or people talking about baby's can affect you.  And in the same breath when they try to avoid all pregnancy related conversations it also is hard.
