I was thinking about buying Sophie for L. Those of you that have it, do your LOs still use it at this age? He doesn't have any teeth, so we have a lot of teething left to do. Is it really better than other cheaper teethers?

Honestly my guy could take it or leave it, he prefers softer stuff like blankets and my bathrobe right now. He got his first tooth Sunday. The dogs are super interested in good ol sophie though she squeaks.
My older son was downright obsessed with it. We got another one so that we always had one on hand. And he only started liking it at 6 months. My LO is less into it but still likes it.
We got it for my older DS and he could take it or leave it. My DD is obsessed with sucking and has to have something in her mouth all the time and she loves it.
We got it as a gift, Haddie likes it but could also leave it. I'm glad we have one but not sure if I would buy one. lol. Very helpful response, I know.
SIL gave Connor a package with two Sophies in it... one rubber the other is soft and jingles. He loves both of them and plays with them every day. Soft Sophie needs a bath though, her feet and ears/horn are getting really grungy. She looks like a dog toy now.
I probably would not spend the money on it myself, maybe because I never heard of her before SIL told me she was like crack for babies.
We got them as a gift. I never would spend the money. He loves to chew on it but he will chew on anything I give him. I like that its a teether on the go that doesn't have to be frozen but I'm sure you could find something similar if you don't want to spend the money.

We have the one that jingles too and she is usually way more interested in that one
G loves her Sophie too...but now that you mention it I think she dropped it in the car last week and I haven't found it for her...so its not essential.

I feel like Sophie is a glorified dog toy. I know all babies are differeent but Ava doesn't care about it at all. She is downright possessive of her little toothbrush thing though.
My daughter likes it. I would also suggest an amber necklace. Same like Sophie, they are hit or miss. I misplaced hers last night and my husband (who usually finds crap I misplace from Mom scatterbrain) is gone for the next 3 weeks (thanks Army). I really might go buy another one tomorrow.
We got a Sophie as a gift and LO loves it- but I only let her play with it on the changing table when either DH and I are with her. For all of the great reviews, there were also some reports of babies getting one of the legs stuck in their throat. Watch those kiddos with Sophie! Baby girl does love chewing those ears, though-- And throwing it behind the changing table.
