Short version - My beautiful Ava Margaret entered the world on 11/1 @ 11:01 AM weighing 8lbs 10ozs with a FULL head of black hair. She is absolutely perfect!
Full version - I had my 40 week apt (40w 5d) on Halloween and my BP was a bit elevated so my doctor decided I would be induced that night. I got the call from the hospital to get there for 8pm to start induction. The hospital was so crowded they put us right into a delivery room, which was great because we didn't have to move rooms.
I had the balloon induction around 9PM, the doctor told me most likely that the balloon would stay in from 10-12 hours so I was planning on it being a long night & day. Luckily for me the balloon fell out 2 1/2 hours later, putting me to 5cm dilated. Being almost a week late and never feeling a contraction or anything I had prayed for them every night before this, ha what an idiot I was to pray for that kind of pain. My contractions started up right away and were SO awful so I got the epidural around 2am. Props to all you natural mamas out there you rock.
I was able to sleep after that and the doctor checked me again at around 9AM, I was at 7cm, fully effaced, & they broke my water. She expected me to fully dilated over the next 3 hours but I ended up fully dilating over the next hour. I was ready to push!! 40 minutes and 9 pushes later my sweet baby girl came into the world! Slip n Slide baby & a 2nd degree tear to go along with that, ouch.
AND I pooped and couldn't have cared less - ha!
Here are some pictures of my sweet little girl
