MFM appointments and OB appointments..

Hi girls! I'm 21 weeks and 5 days with modi boys and have had 2 appointments with the MFM now. At the first appointment (18 weeks) he did the a/s and gave me an estimated weight of each baby. At the second appointment he only checked my cervix and the fluid of the baby (no signs of TTTS so far). Is this normal? The second appointment was only about 15 minutes long and he didnt even measure the baby.

Also, I am pretty annoyed with my OB. I go in just to have my blood pressure and weight taken. He keeps saying things like "if you make it to 27-28 weeks the babies should be fine but anything before that wouldn't be good". It's annoying and frustrating that he has said this at every appointment despite the fact that I haven't had any complications (knock on wood).

Thanks for letting me vent and for any feedback. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

    The babies will only be measured every 4 weeks, especially at your early stage.  At that point, there won't be a big enough difference to discern.  How often do you see your MFM? Does he deliver?  Can you see him exclusively and eliminate the ob?

    D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
    Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs.  Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!

    I am 36 weeks tomorrow and have had similar experiences up until now. My MFM was the one that was always bringing up concern after concern. They are a super surprised that I have made it past 35 weeks even though there have been no complications. It is very annoying to day the least. I feel fine and the babies are doing excellent. So now they are pushing for an induction. We'll see how it goes.

    Thank you for the replies! My MFM doesn't deliver. I am seeing both him and my OB every 2 weeks. I wish my MFM did deliver, that would have been ideal.

    I had the same set up.  I did have growth scans every two weeks instead of 4, but that was because I did actually have TTTS diagosised at 18w and had fetal laser surgery to correct it.  My OB, did a little more than bp and weight.  She used the ultrasound to check heartbeats. And we discussed concerns and she asked questions about movement etc.  She also sent me to L&D a few times to be monitored.

    TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

    Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

    I just came back from my first MFM (he was awesome!) and he said come in every two weeks. One week cervix check and the next growth scan. So, it will alternate. Also have anatomy u/s at 18w, fetal echo done at 20w and tey stop checking cervix at 32. Our goal is 35w.
