Is your DH going to stay overnight w you at the hospital? I'm feeling conflicted with this. Of course, it does depend on when I deliver. I'm being induced tomorrow at 6am.
But even though my sister and my mom will be around for DD1 tomorrow, I'd kind of rather have my DH home with her at night. But at the same time, it would be nice for him to stay with me and the new baby at the hospital for the first night.
And I'm just feeling sad overall about leaving DD1 while I'm at the hospital. She's 2 1/2, so she kind of gets it, but I hate leaving her over night.

Re: STMs
I bought her new outfits for when the baby comes so its sort of special that she gets new clothes for her sleepover. I also bought her a Doc McStuffins dress up outfit with accessories for grandmas too. And her big sister gift from the baby is a Doc doll.

I get worrying about the little ones at home, but I also feel like it's important time dad gets to have with baby at the hospital and the more kids I have the more important I feel that hospital time is because so much of the work at home--managing kids, the house, food, carpools, etc falls to him and he actually gets the least amount of time with the new baby than anyone because he's the one left keeping everything together.
This time, mine other two are quite a bit older so they completely get it. They are 9 and 6. I told them I need them home to care for our two puppies with Nana and Papa. They will come see us but I fully expect DH to be there with me. On the first night/day of recovery I was too sore to get up to change the baby's diapers. I had c-sections both times. She stayed in the room with us the entire time which worked out just fine. We all slept at least little bits. I just needed his support and wanted to see him bond with the new baby just as he did with our first.

Our hospital doesn't have a nursery either - unless it's absolutely necessary. They favor in room bonding
