Yet another newbie

Hello all. We will be TTC next January. This will be our first and probably only child. I will be 31, so I am a little late to the mommy game, but I also married later in life at 26 and wanted to get financially stable before having a baby in case I decided to stay home instead of returning to work. Just have a couple more car payments and we are debt free!

    Welcome to the board! And big congrats on being almost debt free, that's a huge accomplishment.

     But...seriously? You think marrying at age 26 is marrying "later in life" and that TTC your first at age 31 is late? I'd say those are very average ages, and many are much older when they do either.

    Welcome. I can assure you that you did not marry "later in life". I am 26 and just got married this year and almost none of my friends are married or DH's friends and they are about to hit their 30's. The ladies on these boards are a variety of ages so I wouldn't say that you are late by TTC at 31. Congrats on being debt free and good luck on your TTC journey!

    Wow, good to know, it seems like everyone I know was married and a parent by 24. But that just might the the area we live in. People hear that I am 30 and assume I have been married for 10 years.

    Yea, I married at 29 and won't be TTC to 31. My doctor actually said that age isn't as much as a factor as it used to be. It is actually more on how healthy/active the woman is. Every woman is different of course! I have many friends who are still no where near married in the 30's!  You are young IMO! ;)

    Hi...

    I'm 34, got married at 34 and am trying for my first (one of my own)...I think 31 is a perfectly acceptable time to TTC. Not that I think 31 is old, but a lot of people I know have waited until their 30s to start trying for one reason or another.
