When I dropped LO off at daycare this am I noticed a sign posted that one of the infants in her room was diagnosed with RSV. So now i'm at work and trying not to panic. On the plus side, in laws have been visiting from out of the country so LO has been on a mon/wed/fri daycare schedule for the past 3 weeks instead of her normal 5 day schedule so has had less exposure to whichever child has it. But I am annoyed that I did try to get her covered for a 2nd season of synagis and was denied by our insurance company because they didn't deem her to be high risk. Also on the plus side is that the daycare that I take her to is on the grounds of a local hospital, I don't work for the hospital (was on long wait list as non hospital employee to get a spot) but most of the babies there are hospital employees (lots of dr's and nurses kids). Which in addition to the location is why I chose the place hoping that everyone is more aware about illnesses and disease prevention. So i'm glad that someone had the wherewithal to take their LO to the dr and get checked out and not just chalk it up to a bad cold so everyone else knows what's going on but i'm also trying not to panic right now!!! Please help me calm down.
