Can't take a full breath

Does anyone else constantly feel heavyness on their chest? I feel like I have a rubber band around my chest and I can't get a full total breath in. It's so weird :/

Re: Can't take a full breath

  • I don't have that exactly, but a few times I have felt a heavy pressure on my chest (right around my breastbone) that I can only get rid of if I take a deep breath.  It seems to happen when I get up suddenly from the couch.  I'm assuming it's pregnancy-related as I've never felt this before (I even started a thread about it on this board or maybe 2nd tri).

Also had a weird feeling last night around my lower abs, kind of like a faint tightness...thought maybe it was something to do with my uterus but who knows!?!  hahahahaha

  • I have had shortness of breath for the past couple of weeks, I'm at 5 weeks now. I was reading that this is pretty common I with pregnancy, but I'm going to bring it up at my first appointment in a few weeks.
  • I felt this way too starting at about 7 weeks!  I thought it was way too early to feel out of breath, but my doc said increased progesterone can make us feel this way.  Here's an article I found on it too:

  • I'm experiencing this too. I've noticed it's not as bad when I don't have on a bra. Planning to ditch the underwire and buy some more comfortable boobie holders this weekend!

  • I've been really short of breath. My doctor said it's from the extra blood I'm pumping and it's normal.
