Teething??!!

I'm mobile and can't search so not sure if this has been discussed.
My LO has been super fussy lately, drooling a ton, and is always gnawing on her fists or trying to gnaw on my shoulder, hand, anything. She'll be 3 mo. next week...is it possible that she's teething already?! I don't feel anything on her gumms and I don't see anything.
FTM here....

    Well...it's possible.

There was a girl on my last BMB (that I actually lived near IRL and we hung out a bit) whose baby girl had her front teeth at 3 months and like 6 teeth by 5 months.

    So yeah, it's possible.

  • My DD is definitely drooling a whole lot. I kind of hope it's not teething yet. She's three and a half months old. GL, OP!

  • I'm hoping she's not teething yet...I'm not ready for that!!
  • Teething can begin this early but could also last months before the teeth actually brake through. It's kind of the body gearing up for the real thing. My LO has had the same behavior and has taken to actually chomping on his gum drop paci. Hoping no teeth come in anytime soon especially since these last couple days he's taken to clamping down while nursing... Just another issue to add to that list

  • More than likely it's just discovering their hands now, but yeah they can also be teething symptoms.

I was lucky with DS1 he never had any issues while teething. He was also a late teether, which was nice for breast feeding! ;). Hoping for the same with DS2.

  • My DD has two little teeth about to cut the gum and she's 10 weeks. Also, I had my first teeth at 6 weeks. Ask your pedi if you're not sure.
  • I could've written your post. From the research I've done it seems that it is possible, but the teeth can also shift within the gums for weeks if not months before actually erupting.
I certainly miss my happy go lucky baby. Now it seems she is in constant need of distraction.
    Hang in there.

  • My daughter is doing the same thing and she will be 3 months next week also. I do remember my oldest daughter (who is 5 now) start soing the same thing at 3 months and she was teething but no teeth came through until around 6 months.

LO has also started clamping down in addition to everything else! :o/
  • Teething symptoms can begin as early as 2 months before the tooth actually erupts. Many of those things you list are possible signs of teething, so it could be, but as others have said, some of it is also normal for babies at this age. Do the gums appear whitish or translucent when you rub them? That would be another indicator of teething.

  • Symptoms start as early as 2 months, but doesn't mean they are coming in. They (the teeth) move up and down a lot before they finally break through.

  • Yes! Wondering the same.... my lo will be 12 week next Tues!

  • DD is definitely starting the teething process. Lots of drool. She holds things in her hand much better every day and today I watched her put the teether in both handsand chewon it! It was awesome. She turned 12 weeks monday
  • My LO is doing the same thing. LOTS of drool and putting everything in her mouth. She just turned 3 months last week and no sign of teeth coming.
  • Both my girls cut teeth early, drooling and trying to eat their hands is definitely a sign :) but it can take awhile still before they actually break through.

  • I posted about this a while ago, and yes LO could be teething! Mines been doing that since about 5 weeks. I think she'll cut teeth early. This past week she was running a mild fever and I massaged her gums, every time I pulled away she'd cry. It takes a while for their teeth to actually come through though.
