NBR- Fayetteville, NC

DH just got word that we're likely relocating from Ohio to North Carolina next summer. I think we'll be in Fayetteville and I'm wondering if anyone here lives or has lived in the area. I know nothing about NC, educate me!

    Oh no! Thanks for the heads up on the crime and such. I was hoping that we could live close to base but maybe that's not a good idea. Safety is definitely a priority. Any suburb suggestions?

    I live in Raleigh.  Agree with PP - Fayetteville is pretty awful.  Has one of the worst reps in the state and it's quite deserved.  Sanford/Pinehurst is nice but it's going to be smaller.  Great golf.

    If your DH has to be on base daily, some of the far south Raleigh suburbs might be too far but I would see what might be manageable.  Try Fuquay Varina maybe? Or maybe Dunn, small town in Harnett county?
