Baby products you would modify...

Some makers of baby products obviously never had babies... What products would you change or modify?

For me..

1. Baby clothes with actual teeny tiny buttons... I mean come on.

2. Any baby clothes with snaps (or the teeny tiny buttons) on the back, they should all be on the shoulders, so much easier!

  • Tiny baby dresses. They're cute, but they are hard to maneuver and the girls undies are always hanging out.

Sleepers with snaps. Dude, use zippers.

They do. I have one. It's called the ingenuity automatic bouncer. It vibrates in a heartbeat rhythm and bounces by itself!

Do you like it? It has such bad reviews!

  • I would color coordinate all snaps on everything - diapers, onsies, jammies.  I can't tell you how many times I've been tired and snapped up the bottom of the onsie the wrong way.  Some of our diaper covers have snaps and I feel like I have to count over in order to tell where the middle is.
To add on to the carseat thing, I would make one with a built in white noise machine and that vibrates when you stop at red lights.

  • I modified my Swaddle Me so I could just open the bottom to change LO during the night instead of taking the entire thing off of her. I just ripped the stitches at the foot and attached some snaps. I just recently started leaving it open, because she has gotten too tall for it, but still likes her arms swaddled.

  • Making bouncers/soothers that don't turn off after 20 minutes. Seriously fisher price, I almost lost my sht today when my fussy baby finally fell asleep in the vibrating bouncer, only to have it turn off and instantly cause her to wake up and cry again. Gah!!

  • A bathtub that continually pours warm water over LO's torso so he doesn't get cold. A self-soaping washcloth so I didn't have to keep reapplying soap would also be very useful.

A sound machine that could drown out toddler siblings and keep them out of mischief while putting LO down for a nap.

I like it. My LO likes it okay, she prefers the swing over bouncer. It does bounce on its own, but like people have said it's not a strong bounce

To keep LO from getting cold, you can wet a second washcloth and leave it on the torso. I typically re-dip it after I finish each area- clean the legs, re-dip, arms, head, etc. Stays warm much longer.

There should be pnps made for tall people. My back is killing me to bend over it and pick him up.

    For real!

"I agree that snaps are superior to zippers because you can't get apnea monitor cords out of the foot of a zippered sleeper, and sticking it out the top of the zipper is just too close to the neck for my comfort, even if the monitor will alarm if baby strangles.  Thankfully, this isn't an issue for us with DD, but it was for months with DS.

I'd modify boppy pillow cases to be waterproof.  I don't even want to think about the germs that pillow is now harboring after countless spit-ups."

They do make a waterproof cover that goes under the cute covers for the boppy I have one on mine and it works great!
EDIT: I don't know why my quotes don't work, to sleepy to figure it out
  • A RnP that rocks on its own. I can keep DS asleep if I'm rocking him in it, but the minute I drift off to sleep and stop he wakes up.

  • Lurking from August 13... I have some sleepers that zip up from bottom to top, and they're my favorites. Circo brand from target!
  • My hubby and I thought it would be great if they sold those hospital carts! That drawer comes in handy.

We bought the ingenuity bouncer bc DS likes to be bounced. Don't waste your money. It's hardly stronger than a vibrating bouncy chair.

I was just looking at this online because we have their travel swing and it's great. Thanks for the heads up.

I've been using a sound app on my iphone to block out my loud toddler from waking baby girl. It's loud and does a great job.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the Mamaroo do this? I thought that was one of its selling points.

I would modify the RNP to rock on its own! That way I'm not hanging off the side of my bed at 3am rocking DD back to sleep.
