Bored at work and have a few questions.

Hi ladies! I am in the last hour of my shift today and I am bored out of my mind. I work in a daycare and all my babies are asleep, I have cleaned and picked up my room, caught up on the curriculum etc. I kind of want one of them to wake up so I have something to do :-) but they have all been super cranky today so I think they are all going to sleep until I leave. Ok enough rambling, onto the questions.

1. Do any of y'all give your babies cold BM? I had never seen anyone do it until I started at the daycare I'm at now.

2. one of the kids needs a bigger size diaper, dad keeps bringing him 2's and he did definitely needs a 3. Is there a way I can suggest a larger diaper without sounding like an ass? He's never been a very warm individual.

    1. I did.  DS didn't mind at all.


    2. Why do you think he needs a bigger diaper? Is he leaking? Are they leaving red marks because they are too tight?  I would give the dad the reason  - e.g.,  if he's leaking, it results in you having to change his clothes often, or if they are tight, you're afraid the smaller size is starting to irritate his skin.


    3. I've had a killer headache that I'm hoping is starting to fade but otherwise, a pretty good day workwise.

    2. I would definitely make the suggestion. You are the "professional" so you can certainly make a recommendation that you think might make things easier for everyone. Maybe just say "hey, I noticed that Charlie is getting bigger and might be better off in a size 3 diaper. He has leaks so this might help".

    3. I'm doing good! Feel very rested today after going to bed at 8:30 so I'm happy :)

    That's a good idea. I have casually mentioned that he's leaking a lot and I'm changing his clothes every few hours but I guess being subtle hasn't worked. I change his diaper every hour. It used to be every 2 hours but they would get super full. His poor legs are getting red too so I tried to not make them tight but then he explodes. Haha. the BM i had just never seen it done this way before. The little girl seems to like it, I just honestly didn't know you could give it to them cold. Just never thought of it. I'm glad y'all are having good days!

    3.  Today is dragggggggggggging.  I'm getting a cold, cranky, and have been a complete waste of space at work.

    Good Afternoon,

    1) sorry, I don't have a baby but my SIL does and she heats up the refrigerated bottles that she stores after pumping.

    2) Since I've worked at day cares in the past and have had to deal with this I'd say "your son has out grown the size 2's. would you like to take them with you or donate them to someone who can use them? You should bring in size 3's tomorrow when you drop him off"

    3) I'm good. I'm working the second half of my day at home. Started out with SS with me in the office but that lasted only a few hours before the Kindle died and he started getting bored. So I'm home and I actually love it since I get to watch People's Court, Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown with very little interruption. Cold Hard Justice, BAM.

    Thanks for the feedback ladies. The dad ended up getting really butthurt about the diapers. So much so that he complained to the director. But I didn't get in trouble annnd he said he would bring bigger diapers on Monday. Yay. BunkinMama oh my god. That was too funny.
