Jumparoo update

Thanks to the advice of many of you, I decided on the Little Einsteins musical motion jumper. Had to modify it a bit for extra head support and a pillow underneath so his feet could reach. Gavin is all smiles and giggles in this thing!!!image
Feeling like a big bloated hormonal whale of a tale. It's awesome.

Re: Jumparoo update

  • I just bought this one too. She hasn't tried it out yet though.

  • So why did you go for this over the Jumperoo? Was it suggested as better? Or cheaper?

I'm curious as well.  I'm creepy stalking you to see where the thread is with the jumper info lol.

  • It's way too early for any LOs on this board to be in jumperoos.

When can they use them then?

When they complete head control, can sit unassisted (trunk control) and can bear weight on their heads. Usually around 6-9 months.

Honestly, I just thought it was cute! :)

  • The box says 4 months. That's why I modified it with the extra head support, etc. I also put a soft stuffed animal in the space in front of him to avoid a face plant, but took it out to get a quick picture. I wouldn't leave him unsupervised for a second, either. DH and I were sitting right there with him the whole time.
This one is cheaper than the fisher price jumparoo. I also like the raised back, the cute caterpillar in the seat, and the included toys. They are very very similar in style, I just liked this one more.

We have the same one and I pulled the box out this weekend to look at it.  It states that baby should be AT LEAST 4 months.  As much as I want LO to be able to play with it I am going to wait.
Oh well that's perfect for Christmas then!  Thanks!

My other kids were 4-4.5 months when they used one. They loved it.

  • I have the same one, but when I bought it for DD1 it clearly said 9 months on the box. I remember being so afraid to use it with her. DH, who is a physical therapist, had to talk me down and told me what milestones to look for.

Anyway, interesting that they changed the box. Either way it's milestones that count, not your calendar.

  • Kids reach milestones at different ages, I always started with the jumperoo around 3 months with mine, they were sturdy little things. My second was walking unassisted at 6 months, she was certainly ok with sitting in a jumperoo long before then.

  • I may be getting this for LO from a friend when he is ready. The swing isn't very interesting to him anymore.

  • Ours says 4 months. LO has great head control and has been trying to pull himself up to sit when he's on my lap. We'll be putting ours together in the next few weeks for him to try. I agree if you need to add all of the extra stuff he's probably not quite ready, but I'm much more about following his queues than just the number on the box. He's been using the Bumbo for the last week.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but please check the model #s of these as there was recently a recall on this item. Hope this link works https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3652941

It's just the sun toy...cut that sucker off!  I kid.

But really, if you just bought it, I highly doubt they are still selling the recalled version...
