Slow leak/water break ?

Sorry if this is TMI... I called my doctors office and they are supposed to call me back in 30 minutes but I'm a little anxious. I'm a FTM and wondering if any of you STMs or moms with outside babies already (super jealous!) had this happen. I think my water broke, but it's a slow leak. It only come out when I'm laying down and it stops when I stand or sit. I have an appointment tomorrow morning, but wondering if I should go in now, which is why I called and I'm waiting for a call back. EDD is 11/6 (was 11/17 but was moved up at 20 wk appointment).

So... Is this normal or am I just crazy?

    Drs say to put on a fresh pad and lie down for 20-30 minutes on your left side.  Stand up.... if any fluid comes out (trickle...gush...etc..) then be concerned.  Always call your Dr if you are concerned about anything odd!!!!  Try the trick, but still go get checked.  It's a pretty simple check.  I thought I had a leak too when I was preggers.  Turned out to be sweat and a bit o' pee.. Nice, right??? Sounds like you are ok though.  Good luck!

    Thats strange that its only when laying down, mine was opposite and only when I stood up. Same thing happened to me, I had a slow leak so went into the doctor. They supposedly did a test and said it was just excess discharge due to a bacterial infection. Well within hours of being sent home I was in labor! If I would have listened to my OB I wouldn't have made it to the hospital in time! I went in on my own and so glad I did!

    I think when you sit or stand the baby can sometimes act as a cork (so to speak) and stop the flow. When you lay down the baby moves back out of position and allows a trickle to come out. I'm no doctor, so no clue if that makes sense, but I have seen a few people post experiences similar to yours. Good luck!!

    If you soak through a pad in an hour then it's your water breaking most likely.

    My water was leaking and I had no clue besides I felt terrible. Glad you called the dr. They can do swab.

    Placing a call with your doctor is the best you can do. None of us are going to be able to do more than just guess.

    My water broke slowing when I was laying down sleeping and nothing came out when I stood up. I didn't even know it broke until I started having contractions the next day, went to the doctors and I was 4cm dialated...

    I would head in to L & D. This happened to me two weeks ago, and my water had broke. Your babies head is probably plugging the hole when you stand. Better to be safe than sorry! My little girl was two weeks early. When this was happening to me, I told myself I was peeing my pant ( dumb, I know). I waited almost 4 hours to go in, and that was a mistake. Good luck!
