Still swaddling?

Please don't tell me we are the only ones. We're in the middle of sleep training so I didn't want to throw 2 things at him at once, but I can barely velcro the swaddle. We definitely need to kiss it goodbye but I'm scared. I've tried putting him in bed without it and he lasts approximately 10 minutes. Even for naps he's wrapped tightly in an A + A blanket.

I should add that he rarely rolls over and has never done so while sleeping, but it's obviously only a matter of time. Any advice?

I wish I had some advice for you!

How did you dress him when you tried to put him to sleep without swaddling? B liked sleep sacks once we were forced to un-swaddle him. He seemed to transition well and fairly quickly.

We half swaddle still with arms out. Are you using the large size SwaddleMe blankets? Lex still fits in those pretty easily, but she's kind of small. No rolling here yet.

our pedi actually told us it's better to get everything over and done with at the same time (ie, sleep training, lose the sleepsack, etc etc). His thought was that we only "traumatize" them once, instead of over and over. One big giant sweeping change to get used to instead of change here, they get used to it, then change something else to throw them off that they have to get used to, rinse and repeat.

We are still swaddling at night. I don't swaddle for naps. I need to eliminate it but haven't yet.

We tried putting him to bed just in his jammies..bad idea. I've tried the half swaddle thing and that was a disaster too. I'm using a large swaddleme but my son is a big baby and it's not cutting it. Looks like tonight is night 1 of no swaddle. I'm very afraid!

Sleep suit!!! I thought the transition would be hard but he didnt blink an eye. We did transition to crib from RNP and out of swaddle to sleep suit all at once. No problems!

We stopped swaddling about a month ago and used the sleepsuit for about three weeks. Then went to sleepsacks. I tried the sleepsuit a few weeks prior to that and it was a no go...she wasn't ready. If he's not ready, keep trying every week.

When we transitioned from swaddling, we did a few nights of him in a Halo Sleepsack Sawddle with only one arm out. A few days later, we tried both arms out with it swaddled around his chest. That worked for us. Now that he rolls and sleeps on his stomach, he sleeps sooo much better. Good luck!!
