Baby sleep trick - amazing

So I haven't been able to figure out the magic button to put my LO to sleep. He fights it like a champ. A lot of times, no matter what I am doing, he just will not rest. Swaddled, white noise, paci, rocking, shushing, swaying, bouncing.. it doesn't matter. Today I was at my wit's end. Like he's been up 7 hours and he's taken two 30 minute naps. I'd spent hours already trying to get him to sleep. He just wasn't having it. Then I found this video:

I tried it.. and I shit you not, asleep in 30 seconds. THIRTY SECONDS! Thought this might help some of you like it helped me. :-)

    Okay, I'm going to try for our next nap because my LO just fought her nap like Mike Tyson. I was going bananas. I hope this works!

    That is so funny - my mom used to do that to us! She called it the cat method because apparently it works on cats too ... Lol
    TTC 1/2010 DH Dx - Azoospermia 2/2011
    Hysteroscopy 3/2011 2 Polyps removed 4/2011
    DH on Clomid / Arimidex to address hormonal issues - Sperm found July 2011!
    IVF #1 September 2011 - ER 9/8/2011- 8R, 5M - icsi - 1 made it to transfer - BFFN :-(
    IVF #2 Lucky November 2011 - ER 11/25/2011 - 15 eggs!, 13 mature, 10 fertilized with isci - 7 made it to transfer! Transferred 1 - 8 cell and 2 - 7 cell. BFP!!!!
    1st U/S - Twins! 2nd U/S - 3 heartbeats!!! - HOLY COW!!!
    Prayers for our take home babies!
    2 babies born on 3/27/12 and lost. Last baby born on 3/29/12 and lost at 20 weeks.
    My angels grew wings shortly after birth.
    Ahava Raisel, Matisyahu Nissim & Zev Chaim - Mommy and Daddy will always love you.
    IVF #3 July 2012 - ER 7/17/2012 - 10 R. 5 F. 4 made it to ET
    Transferred 2 on 7/20/2012 no snow babies :-(
    Beta on 7/31/2012 = BFMFN
    A miracle gift expected to come to us through adoption around 9/2012
    Baby girl adopted - Birth Mother changed her mind and took the baby back
    IVF #4 October 2012 - New RE. Doing PGD Testing. 8 R, 7F, 2 made it to 5 day blast for PDG testing. Both Normal (Thank you G-d!!!) 1 boy and 1 girl
    transferred one beautiful 5day blast (girl)
    Please G-d the almighty one - let this be our take home baby!
    Beta #1 158, Beta #2 318, 1 Absolutely magnificent HB at 175! Thank you G-d!!!
    Baby Girl born August 5th. Thank you G-d for our precious miracle.

    That's funny! I think it's because they're afraid you're going to poke them in the eye so they close their eyes. Boom! Asleep! Haha.

    I'm definitely going to try it. But I'm also interested in the next video that pops up on the YouTube feed, the Oompa Loompa method for putting your baby to sleep. It's in Spanish, but it's pretty easy to figure out. Oh the crazy things we do to get our babies to fall asleep.

    I've been doing this with our LO since the beginning. I don't know how I knew to try it though. Definitely works.

    I've done it from the beginning too. I don't remember doing it with our son, but worked with DD1 too.

    Doesn't work with my LO. She keeps opening her mouth like I'm going to give her food. It's quite funny to watch though.

    I figured this out with the kids I nannied for and my kids now, too. Definitely only works when they are already tired otherwise they just look at me like I'm crazy.

    I've done this before. My mom used to do this to us to get us to fall asleep. Whenever I don't feel well or can't sleep, dh does it to me so I pass out, lol.

    Ok now I have to check out the oompa loompa. FWIW, it didn't work the second time I tried it. Sigh.

    When lo is fighting sleep but not crying I gently close his eyes for him so he feels the ggoodness of them being closed. It works sometimes ha ha!

    Ditto! She looooved the Oompa Loompa & was smiling up a storm, but didn't seem to make her sleepy at all.

    DH always pets the dog on her nose like that, so he always does it with LO too, works just about every time!

    Another good one is the butt jiggle and pat. Guaranteed to put my baby to sleep. Add in the trick OP posted and we are golden.
