Another Bday party post

So we are keeping it pretty simple. Party at a park, pizza, salads, and wraps for lunch. It's scheduled from 1-3. We will have a theme of "Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog tails, that's what little boys are made of" Games will be a frog sack race, pin the tail on the puppy, and we will have a balloon twister there. I am making a small eggless smash cake for Benjamin and cupcakes for the guests. I made a cupcake stand and we will have lemonade and water. Super simple! We invited just family and super close friends which added up to about 60 people. UGH. And so far, every RSVP has been a yes. Haha... I'm looking forward to it but I think I need to stop pressuring myself to make it so perfect. Silly!

    It sounds like a lot of fun. Just relax and have fun :). All the 1st birthday parties I've been to most of the kids are cranky due to messed up nap schedule or they are falling asleep :). I say just treat it like any other get together and just relax and don't worry about a schedule. most of the time it's going to be off anyway :)

    Sounds fun!  I'm getting so excited for ours.  I'm going to order the paper utensils and decor stuff today, eeee!  I looove having a party!!

    Sounds fun!  You're lucky that it will be warm enough to have it at a park.  Our guests will be stuck inside our house since it's kinda cold here in Illinois.

    Ya our condo is way to small so hopefully the weather cooperates! The day of his birth last year it was such a nice day.

    I can't imagine having energy to host that many people and do so much of the work myself. Go mama!

    we had the same idea (gathering at a park) at it turned out great.. people stayed longer than I assumed they would but I think because there was the play structure for the kids it made it easier for parents to mingle.

    the ONLY thing I didn't plan for was all the gifts.... they ended up on the ground by the picnic table b/c I didn't have a better idea...

    I DID email and tell people to bring camping chairs .... the picnic area only had so many benches

    @hummingbirdbaby3, I love you. Your party sounds awesome, but I think our visions of "keeping it simple" are totally different. :) I hope you, B, and DH have a spectacular time!

    Sounds great! Just try to remember to enjoy it! It goes so fast and then it's over.for all my worry and set up and planning, I feel like I blinked and I missed it!
