1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? Named after my moms uncle Jim I would have been Jaime boy or girl

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. Not sure just trying to take it one day at a time..its def. A learning curve

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. Becoming a dental hygienist

9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be? As pp said to many to choose from!

1. My mother was in prison when she had me, they gave her a day to decide my name, she knew she wanted Nicole somewhere, but that is all she had so she called my aunt and she gave her the suggestion of naming me my mother's middle name Windy, so that is what she did Windy Nicole.

2. The new layout has cool features, but I kinda miss the boards on the side so I can just click on the board rather than going to the drag down menu and selecting from there.

3. SIDS

4. Being in nuclear physics somewhere, engineer or just a physicist. I also see myself in the Government somehow, whether by joining the military and going that route or if I decide to try my best to catch Government attention through my work in energy (nuclear or petroleum).

5. Right now I am staying at home, classes start back up in Jan.

6. He is a driller on a gas rig, right now he works up north near State College in PA. I used to live around there last year, he moves all through PA and OH and now since they adopted 'Man Camps' I won't be able to move around with him and he has to be gone half a month at a time.

7. I will probably be trying again in Feb/March to have a Christmas/ New Years baby. If it is a girl, we will be done, if another boy we might have one more afterwards.

8. I didn't have any names that was concrete, but I had Scarlett, Eevi/Evey, Neave/Niav (Irish: Niamh), and some others...

9. Tough choice. There is one person here who reminds me of one of my close friends that is @MommyMorticia other than that I would spend the day with anyone here and probably have a fun time.

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? It was popular at the time (Lauren). It would have been Nicole, but that was REALLY popular, so they made that my middle name.

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. Poor grammar and spelling.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. Screwing up my kid. I mean, you do the best you can, every day, but some days (especially now that Ava is almost 3 and understanding the world around her), I wonder if I'm making any major mistakes.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. I'm not sure. I was in the professional sports world as an event planner prior to quitting and getting my MS in early childhood. While I enjoyed it, I can't envision myself in a classroom setting for perpetuity.

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. I think ideally, when my kids are in school, I'd get more involved in a couple local charities that are really important. One is a really great halfway house for really bad child abuse cases that I'm involved with and the other is a shelter for abused women and their children that help them get back on their feet. I'd love to make a difference that way.

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? H is a real estate developer.

7. What are your plans for another baby? We're D.O.N.E

8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex? We really didn't have a boy name picked out, but I always liked Jack, Ryan and Ethan.

9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be? GO! Probably @letranger If she'd let me ride in her bike.

ETA- also I'd like to meet OSC. She, letranger and I all "know" each other from our previous bmb. There are several of the A13 bumpies I think are fun, too. Skidderoo, grace, coffeemonster, Pinot, Kate, minxyglams, Jss, melissaandjames, cmcmillian, lhyacinth, clandestine, knitfaced, bella, and I know I'm forgetting others so don't be offended if I forgot you

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? Honestly, I don't think there was a reason. They just liked it!

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. When people are rude for no reason!

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. Not knowing what to do right away.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. Yes. I don't see a career change ever!

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. I wish above everything that I was a stay at home mom. I would love it but we cant afford to live off of one income. I'm trying for a job at home for teaching so I can do both!

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? He is also a teacher, high school!

7. What are your plans for another baby? We were surprised and already received a BFP while on birth control so we are having another bundle of joy in June.

8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex? It would have been Louis!

9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be? I don't know, anyone would be nice to get to know!

1. My name was going to be Kimberly. But I was born in a very small town that only had one hospital back then. The train that stopped at that town went off it's tracks the night I was born there was so many people dying and coming in really hurt. I was the only baby born that night. So I was as my mom said "her ray of sunshine in all that tragedy" so she named me " "Sol" literally the word sun in spanish.

2. I don't like sarcastic comments.

3. Am I doing this right??? Sometimes I am clueless.

4. No I want to stay home for a bit and enjoy my kids.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM: Something out of my control happening to my kids. I don't think that will ever go away no matter how old and how many kids I have.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise - God, I hope not.

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc - Not really for me. I think I would eventually like to work 3-4 days a week and be off the other 2 with my kid(s)

My mom got to name the boys and my dad got to name the girls. There are 4 boys and 2 girls in my family.

Repetitive posts. Or questions that google could answer in a second.

Forgetting my son in the car. Thankfully I have OCD

I'm a SAHM but decided I needed to work for 12 hours a week. To keep my sanity and adult interaction.

7. What are your plans for another baby? I'm getting off birth control November 15th and then it's fair game.

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? This is funny. The cook in my dad's fraternity in college was previously engaged to the famous actress Jessica Lange back when they lived in Cloquet (small town MN). My dad just always liked the name but that was how he first heard it.

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. Groupthink -- one person comes up wiht a witty response to a commonly asked question and then everybody mimics it after that.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. The unexpected. I probably have tons of anxiety problems because I think constnatly about freakish horrible things that could happen to DS or DH.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. Goos question. I'm not really sure. I have a really good thing going but I'm not passionate about it lately, and at the end of the day, I'm just feeding the mass wheel of consumerism and what I do doesn't really make a differnece. I'd like to get into our community relations dept.

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. Never say never, but right now I honestly cannot imagine being home with a baby all day, every day, by myself. It's not for me. Also, I like having money and making money, I've been working and making my own money since I was 14, I can't imagine not making money. However, I would love to work part time or work from home again.

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? Project Management Consultant

7. What are your plans for another baby? Not preventing, just started trying again.

8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex? Anna

9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be? I think PinotToParenthood, we seem to have a lot in common, and I love the name. ;-) Or Skidderdo, because we also seem to agree on most topics.

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? My mom heard the name somewhere and just loved it. My middle name is after my maternal grandmother.

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. Newbies who don't lurk/try to make rules (not really an issue on this board) and repetitiveness.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. Screwing up my children.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. I'm a SAHM now although I was working my dream career prior to becoming one. I'm happy with my life right now

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. Odds are I won't formally rejoin the workforce. There is some freelance potential with my career that I still dabble in and will most likely continue as the kids grow up. My husband's job is unique and is the biggest influence on my career situation in the future.

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? He is a college football coach.

7. What are your plans for another baby? Ideally, we would like two more. I'd imagine we'll try again in 2 years or so.

8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex? We were team green. We took Sawyer to the delivery room with us.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. Failing... Also as a minority, I feel like it's easier for my son to be in a gang or sell drugs since we have a history of these things. I don't want to raise another statistic.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. I did see myself doing this forever but sometimes I dont know. I want to work with Veterans. I have my BA in Kinesiology but don't want to work in any type of therapy.

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? MH is a District Trainer for Best Buy

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? There was a kid named Emily in my mom's daycare class (she was the aide/worker, not a classmate). My middle name came from my grandmother's middle names (Anne and JoAnn, respectively).

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. Abbreviations. I have no clue what "HDBD" even stands for, and it takes less than a second more to type out "pediatrician" instead of "pedi."

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. I'm afraid for my child's future and that I'll be directly responsible for screwing it up. Oh, and that my child will never eat real food and I'll be breastfeeding forever (which doesn't bother me much, but I'm pretty sure others will frown at that).

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. I'm a SAHM, which is exactly what I wanted to be. Not sure what I'll do when I have school-age children.

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. I was never really in the workforce to begin with (worked at a non-profit museum in a minimum wage job). Maybe I'll work when my kids are in school, but right now, it's too early to tell.

6. What do your SO/H's etc do for a living? The husband works for the government (refugee and asylum office).

7. What are your plans for another baby? None yet. We're probably not done, but I REALLY do NOT want another baby right now.

8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex? Evan Francis.

9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be? She doesn't come on anymore, but principessa51. I miss her.

Although I certainly wouldn't complain if anyone else from here showed up at my door!

Hard to say. I just started a new job last Monday but everything seems too good to be true so who knows!

Finances would make things really tight if I didn't work. And I think I appreciate my time with my girls much more when I work.

He's a journeyman for HVAC.

Ahhhhhhhhh this makes me feel so old. The movie is "Cocktail" with TomCruise and it is AWESOME, and I know almost every line by heart. :-) I love the name Jordyn / Jordan, BTW. Always have!

I'm FB Friends with her -- oddly, we discovered on this board thta we went to the same tiny college and just missed each other (I'm older)... we were in the same sorority and have about a dozen mutual friends in common. SHe posted something here about her friends husband dying under some unusual circumstances and I had just seen a similar post on FB about the same thing and it turned out we were both talking about the same person, although she and I have never met! Weird, huh? She's doing great!

1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name? My mom thought choosing an insanely common name and spelling it weird was unique and pretty lol. That's all I know.

2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB. There are some really judgy people. Not on this board. I guess that's the internet in general though.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. I want him to have a better childhood than I had and learn things about his parents and family and life that I never did. That's my goal so from tine to time I worry about it.

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise. No, when T goes to preschool I want to try something new. Not sure what. As much as I love cooking and fit into the environment I'm tired of working in kitchens.

5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. I am, like I said. I cannot do this forever!

Oh, I would like to go off the pill probably around T's 3rd birthday. SO disagrees on waiting so long but I am adamant.

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. - that she'll grow up feeling entitled. I feel like so many kids now do, and especially with her being the first grandchild for my ILs...
4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? At least as long as kids are in elementary school. I'm a hairstylist, and cut back to part-time after Madeline. I love what I do and love the flexibility.
5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc. Financially right now it's not an option. In theory I like the idea of it, but I think I would go crazy being home all day every day. Working 3-4 days a week gives me a really happy balance of both.

Late to the game today courtesy of the longest settlement conference in court history. Painful.
1. How did your parents decide on YOUR name?
Mom's preference based on her Irish history (Kathleen). Dad picked my middle name. I'm glad mom won because I don't care for my middle name.
2. Your biggest pet peeve on TB.
Posts that are nearly indecipherable from grammar/spelling issues and excessive abbreviations. Yes, mobile posting can be annoying, but don't devolve into 16-year-old text speak.
3. Your biggest fear as a FTM.
Having my kid turn into a sociopath. Now that he's 2, I fear I may have failed at that already... Oh, the tantrums!

Probably, but I'd love to be a judge some day.

I enjoy working. After #1 I was happy to go back. With #2 it was actually harder. I'd love something with reduced hours like 4 days a week until they start school, but probably not doable financially. I earn 50% more than DH and we need that to pay the bills.

Industrial engineer.
7. What are your plans for another baby?
Probably never which does make me sad. Maybe I'd be a surrogate although I don't think DH would be on board with that.
8. What name did you have picked out if LO was opposite sex?
Probably our second choice for our son which was Luke or Lucas.
9. If you had to spend a day with any other mom here on TB, who would it be?
Another vote for the too many to choose camp! I appreciate the diversity of moms on here - geographically, age, work, etc. I think it makes the conversations more interesting. Just wish people wouldn't be afraid to share their opinions even when controversial.... Pretty little sarcasm, cattiness, or judginess on this board. We're no April 14.

It was picked out of a hat! I was almost Roxanne.

I try not to get bent. Its the Internet. Why should I waste energy on peeves.

SIDS terrified me. Didn't change for kids 2, 3 or 4.
4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? Career wise.
God I hope so! I love my job. Wish it paid well.
5. If you're a SAHM, do you plan to rejoin the workforce? If you're not a SAHM, why not? Not for you, finances...etc.
I'm not a SAHM for many reasons. Firstly, I love what I do. I feel what I do is important and not to many people do it. Secondly, I need the money. Overall im lucky because I get to bring lo with me most of the time.

H is a worship leader at our church and a fulltime student.
7. What are your plans for another baby?
I'd like another one, but we are unsure for now.

I'm FB Friends with her -- oddly, we discovered on this board thta we went to the same tiny college and just missed each other (I'm older)... we were in the same sorority and have about a dozen mutual friends in common. SHe posted something here about her friends husband dying under some unusual circumstances and I had just seen a similar post on FB about the same thing and it turned out we were both talking about the same person, although she and I have never met! Weird, huh? She's doing great!

I actually remember when you guys realized that; it really is a small world! Glad to hear she's doing well!

1. My parents didn't decide, my dad changed what my mom had put down while she was knocked out. Yes, as you might be imagining, that was not ideal marriage and it ended in divorce.

2. People with thin skin that take constructive advice as "attacking". You don't want to hear the truth? Don't post it on the bump. Maybe learn to separate the wheat from the chaff and focus on the core of the message, not necessarily the delivery sometimes. You might discover something useful.

3. That as he gets older, LO and I won't mesh or I won't understand what he needs in an emotional sense.

5. I'm a Sr. level mgr and have been with my co a long time, so I couldn't imagine not working. I also have to admit that we have an ideal situation right now. I work from home and my mom is currently living w/us keeping LO 3 days a week. His nana lives around the corner and keeps him 2 days a week. So, I don't feel like I'm missing much except changing a few poopy diapers- haha!

3. Your biggest fear as a FTM. That DD will not grow up in a household with both a mother and a father. I want her to have us both forever...

4. Do you see yourself doing what you do for the rest of your life? I work in hospitality and the options are endless, so yes i will forever be in the tourism field.

Not for you, finances...etc. I would love to be a SAHM (but with an endless bank account for shopping and maybe having my own small business on the side) since that is not possible as of right now I will continue to go to work everyday.
