Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Rash on face after 6 month immunizations.

My daughter got her shots Friday afternoon, the next evening she had a small rash on her face, mostly around/on her chin. I put Cortaid on it last night and it was mostly gone this morning. After dinner tonight (squash, that she has had for a month now) the rash returned. It does not seem to bother her at all, she has felt warm but has not had a fever, she has been sleeping and eating like normal. I do not remember this reaction with my first daughter. Thoughts?

Re: Rash on face after 6 month immunizations.

  • My daughter had a rash after her 6 month vaccines too. Friday shots, Sunday small rash on left arm and left leg, then Monday it spread around and was on both limbs and her chin, but nothing on her torso. I took her to the doctor and he said it looked viral not like a reaction to the shots or an allergy and to just let it run it's course. I'm supposed to call if it seems to bother her (which it doesn't) or if she gets a fever (which she hasn't). The weird thing is it comes and goes. It seems like when she first wakes up it's fine then once she's awake a while it comes back.

  • I know this is an older post, but do you mind updating? I've been dealing with a rash on DS' face for a while and I'm trying to track down the cause. Has the rash gone away? Did you do anything to help it? Thank you!

  • My DS has a rash on his face, but his pedi says it's most likely from all his drool! We put Vaseline on it 2-3 times a day and it seems to help
