TTC after 35

GAH! I want to test sooo badly. I'm like a junkie looking for a fix.

I had my IUI on the 19th.   My beta is on Monday.  I purposely didn't buy a test two days ago because I didn't want the torture of having it in the house.  Now I'm dying to test. I was going to head to the store but my LO fell asleep on the way home!! I'm dying.  No purpose for this post other than to get that off my chest and use up some nervous energy.  Thanks for listening!!

  • FX crossed for you, I can't say don't test. I know some women are happier going in with a indication of + or -, so that is an individual choice.

Do whats best of you and be strong!!!!

  • I'm of the opinion that I would rather save myself a copay. I only go to the dr after I've had a positive test and then I can justify the copay for the betas.

  • I tested.  Negative.  I'm a little bummed out but not exactly surprised.  Next month I'm not traveling so I can hopefully get the timing *just* right.  Except when I do the math....We will be falling over the Holidays.  ugh...we'll see.

  • I am sorry :( Maybe if the holidays will be crazy take the time off? I know the time is ticking for all of us.

    Again very sorry

  • Thanks @heather.  I drowned my sorrows with a tunafish sandwich today. I might have sushi for dinner.  LOL.  I was going to go in and get the blood draw anyway today but my DS is super sick so I'll just wait it out...
  • @Maelien how do you pronounce your name?

I am glad you found something to drown your sorrows in :D

  • @Heathernsteven It is pronounced "May-Lean".  It looks a bit wonky, trust me, I know :)  Thanks for asking.  Most of my college friends just called me "Lennie" and it's stuck.  Sexy NN, right?  My parents never saw that one coming.  I don't mind, though.

And I got my period today so now I don't need to pay for a blood draw.  Silver lining?
  • @maelien, well i am scoping out your name as a possibilty if we ever have a baby. My husband is Jewish and in the jewish faith you supposed to name the baby after a deceased family memeber, so most people go with the first Initial. In our case we will be naming a baby after Aunt Myrna....so I was eyeing Maelien as a possibility, I was leaning towards a "Maylyn" but "Maylean" is nice too.

I am sorry you got your period, that just sucks :( but like you said no need to pay for BW!!

  • @HeathernSteven - It's a nice name and I'm, of course, attached to it but I would go with a different spelling than mine.  People just can't seem to figure the phonetics out when they are reading it.  I'm told all the time that it's a pretty sounding name.

I think either version is a nice way to go. :)
