What can I do??? (Loss mentioned)

Hi,
I lost my baby girl 6 weeks ago. We had a perfect anatomy scan then at 21 weeks I woke up bleeding. She was diagnosed with hydrops and died the next day. I delivered her sleeping and had no complications. I am now 6 weeks out and no period. I also take opk daily for the last couple weeks to know when I I, but all neg. which means at this poit we r looking at at least 8 weeks no period. Dr said I can try again after first period. I have always been normal. Even after a previous miscarriage I got my period at 4 weeks. Should I go see my OB? Is there anything I can do to jump start things and get things going?
Thanks so much for your help, I look forward to getting to know you ladies on this crazy journey.

  • No dr hasn't tested my levels but got a neg preg test a few weeks ago so I'm sure they r 0.

A negative pregnancy test does not mean that your levels are at 0. Many pregnancy tests do not detect below 25. You could still have low levels of hcg in your system.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to read the blog (link in my siggy). It has lots of good information, including information about cycles post-loss.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. After my first loss at 21 weeks it took over 100 days for my AF to return. If you are worried you can definitely call your OB to ease your mind.
  • I don't have any advice for you but I just wanted to say I so sorry for your loss.

  • I'm sorry for your losses. My loss was at only 8 weeks, but even then it took 7 weeks for my first period to arrive, and my doctor had told me to call him only if my period didn't come for 12 weeks or more. Unfortunately wonky cycles after a loss are pretty normal, your body just needs time to heal and sort itself out.

  • ((Hugs)) to you. I'm sorry for your loss. I don't think there is anything you can do to jump start your body. It needs to heal, and unfortunately you just have to wait it out. FX that AF shows up soon!

  • I am sorry for your loss and welcome. It can be frustrating waiting for AF to start and not knowing what is going on. I believe most doctors will have you call if at least 60 days have gone by with no AF.
