I just don't know what to do anymore. LO was an awesome sleeper for the first 3 1/2 months. She started STTN at about 2 months, sleeping about 8-12 hrs straight. Then we moved her from the rock n play and it continues to get worse. She is 5 1/2 months and gets up at least every 2-3 hours, sometimes even more.
I usually get 3-4 hours of broken sleep a night. I'm beyond exhausted. I feel like I've aged 10 years in the last 2 months. She goes to sleep fine at night after we put her in the crib awake. She just wakes up constantly. She usually goes back down quickly though. I've tried modified sleep training but it hasn't worked. I'm not trying to force het to STTN but she should be able to have longer than a 3 hour stretch now. Anybody have any advice? I need a miracle...
Re: desperately need sleep help
I'm sorry I don't have any advice. The first half of the night she would sometimes go 6 hours (not much help when she falls asleep at 6pm) but we don't even get that at the minute.
We don't do any form of sleep training. E does! She's trained us to get as little as possible. We are just waiting for her to grow out of it.
I know what you mean about feeling like it's aged you. I feel the same. It won't be forever. Hang in there, I'm sure something will click soon (I hope).
I hate wishing away her baby days but at the same time need sleep. I think when she can roll better and be a tummy sleeper she will be much better. I thought that would be soon but she seems to not roll as much as she did s few weeks ago. I guess more focused on other things...
Disclaimer: my house is a mess and we have no food. If I take a shower, I have to choose that over potential sleeping. So maybe my help isn't much help at all.
I took a screen shot and posted it on FB to show everyone I wasn't smoking week or something.
I used to only bathe her a few nights a week but I'm desperate! I've started bathing her almost every night. I use a calming baby wash, then I bring her to her room and let her roll around naked for as long as she'll tolerate (I have a lullaby cd playing during that time and dim the lights), I rub her down with lavender lotion, then I change her into pjs, feed her and put her down.
I also second the trying to go to sleep around the time baby does. I do this even though I have trouble falling asleep that early. It helps to just lie there in the quiet and rest.
Good luck! Sorry you are so exhausted. It will end at some point, at least that's what I'm told
I think waking every 3 hours for a feed is pretty usual. The every hour club is a lot harder.
Just remember too that there is no way this is going to last forever. This whole phase will be over before you know it.

See?
I don't really know what to tell you, but I know it is awful. Sleep training isn't for everyone, but it worked for us. Tonight was the first night we put Tommy in his crib to sleep (until now he was in the R n P) He was down to one wake up per night, then the last few days has been waking up more. We never went through the 4 month sleep regression. I am thinking teething or some mental leap or something. It is so hard! Good luck and I am really sorry that you are so exhausted.
