One year old pictures ideas

I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do for my little ones "1 year" pictures and I'm a bummed that they will all have to be inside since it will be be winter. Any one have any cute ideas for indoor pictures other than the cake smash?

Re: One year old pictures ideas

  • They don't necessarily have to be indoors. A 1 year snowy winter session would be cute too. Or you could try to recreate that inside.

  • I agree with PP. They don't HAVE to be indoors. Or if it really wouldn't work, maybe just do a few pics of the child sitting on your fancy couch or chair in their outfit. Basically, keep the background simple, lighting natural and focus on the child. Too many props are distracting.
  • I'm hoping to catch a snowy warm day that we can get some pictures taken...I know I'm stretching long but a girl can hope. I just this weekend got some pictures of DS in the fall leaves. I almost missed all the pretty colors! Otherwise I think we will just do some in his adorable Ralph Lauren outfit against a white backdrop...I'm still looking on Pinterest for some inspiration.

    Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

    Anniversary

  • I want a night time 'new year party' shoot so my photographer recommended using my backyard so we'd be close to home if he needed to go down soon after. But my backyard is a dirt wasteland (plus the cold weather factor), so I am clearing out my dining room and the photographer is bringing in some backdrops to turn the room into a studio. My MIL and I are also making some of the other props.

Here's my photographer's pinterest board of ideas for the shoot! New Year's Babe
    I'm so excited!!
  • I don't know if you did newborn pictures, but we're planning on "re-creating" his newborn pic below as sort of a before and after.  I think it will be funny because he'll probably be picking up the basket and putting in on his head or get the feathers stuck in his mouth.  Also, I'm going to dress him in a suit and do a "trash the dress" type pic with the smash cake.
