Crib skirts?

What are these exactly? Not the frilly ones, I imagine they are like a valance, but the straight/smooth ones that almost look like you have 2 mattress's on top of each other. Or is it actually 2 mattress on top of each other?... I think it looks very nice and modern. DwellStudio Crib Skirt Canvas Meadow Powder Blue

    I know it is a nice idea but all that come to mind for me is more laundry.

    @ svedkastoli Haha, laundry is blue job in my house! Lucky for me. Do you think it is 2 mattress's, or just a straight/short crib skirt?

    @carmlvsjose lucky you! I just bought a oval crib so am having a drool over all this beautiful nursery linen. But it might all have to be made for me (hoping my sister is feeling generous!). I am considering getting stuff for regular shaped cribs, and getting her to alter them... then I look at all the choices, get overwhelmed, and don't get anything!

    I never could find any linens I loved which is why I begged my mom to make them. It might be cheaper and easier to just have them made for the dimensions of your crib, instead of altering them. Good luck!! :)

    There is usually a few settings on tge crib so when it's on the highest setting the crib skirt looks like in those pics and doesn't hit the floor.

    @Bwhitten ah that makes sense! I am so dumb sometimes. Also, how does the crib skirt attach? I get my crib soon enough, but I can't get my head around where in goes.

    You lift the mattress off, then what is under the mattress? It is probably too hard to explain to me, I might google it haha.

    Ok, so they are not like a regular bed valance, where you sit the mattress on top, they are just velcroed to the inside of the crib slats?

    I have found the easiest tutorial the uses iron on hemming tape... that sounds like my kinda project!

    Here's a good tutorial on making your own, it's actually really easy. And how you attach them to the crib depends on what the platform your mattress sits on is made out of. If it's a wire mesh, you can use little fabric ties. If it's more of a particle board, you can use something like thumbtacks. Or you can tie them to the crib bars if you like the look of the ties showing.

    Tesskerr, Any idea where you got that image? That color pallet is exactally what I'm working towards and everyone says purple, grey, and teal are too much!
