Anyone else's baby not like the ergo?

My baby girl will sometimes take about a ten minute nap in the ergo carrier, but for the most part actslike her legs hurt and fusses. I try to exercise her legs before stretching her around me, but she's still so fussy in it? Also, (maybe a stupid question) can the baby sit front facing in it when on your chest or is it not made for that? Thought maybe that would make her happier.

The ergo is not made for front carry and front carry is not really a good position for baby to be in for long periods of time, it's too hard on their neck/back. This is what I have heard through the grapevine.

My baby did not like the ergo at first either, he was't flexible enough to spread his legs wide enough so we bought the newborn insert even though he was over that weight. We used it for only a few weeks and now he's flexible enough and no longer fusses in it. I bet if you wait it out a little bit she will like it as she gets more flexibility. Or go buy the insert. It's good, but better for the tiny babies as it's an extra step that takes a bit of adjusting and it took some practice to get it to fit well; it was a good investment for us because we used it when we were on a trip but we didn't use it long; I'll have it for baby 2 though.

I roll up a small blanket to put under LO along the base of the carrier. He isn't comfortable without it yet because he doesn't have the flexibility. With it we can go on a 5 mile hike and he sleeps the whole time.

My baby does not like any of his carriers. I bought a K'tan, Bjorn, and Ergo prior to his birth hoping that he would like ay least one. I did manage to get him in the Ergo long enough to do some grocery shopping yesterday... Hoping it wasn't just a fluke! I also use the infant insert (he is 3 months and about 11 pounds).

Are you actually putting her legs out all the way around you? She can sit in the froggy position without the insert. My LO cannot put his legs out and around me yet but I'm not using the insert anymore.

DD1 loved the Ergo. DD2 not so much. I sold it and bought a Beco Gemini and she likes it.

DD hates it. She wants to look around and she does not like to have her legs in a position that she cannot freely move them. But I keep trying. Hopefully she will start to like it.

My little one will only tolerate it as long as I'm moving. Sitting is a no go, nor standing still. Even riding on the subway is only ok if I'm lightly bouncing up and down on the balls of my feet. How big is your LO? I agree with PP, maybe you need to put in an insert.

My LO will only tolerate the ergo if I'm moving. She is around the same age as yours and I don't stretch her legs out, I kind of froggy them in the carrier, under her bum a little so that she and I are both comfortable.

When it comes to front facing, it's never a good idea. In any carrier. Their legs just hang there and it can cause hip dysplasia. Your best bet is to wait until she is 6 months and wear her on your back.
