Rough Weekend

Both boys have ear infections. D still has his and the new medicine turned his poop red so I have to call pediatrician in the morning. C also is teething. C is my more laid back whatever baby. He has cried all weekend and nothing has worked well. He'll nap in the swing but wakes up crying, so I hold him and he falls back to sleep. However if I move the whole crying cycle starts again. I feel bad for D because I feel like he hasn't gotten much attention this weekend. DH has been working all weekend. I have a professional development session tomorrow for my master's class that is due tomorrow and I haven't been able to work on it since Friday.

I'm a little stressed and all I feel like I do is complain. Ugh! Thanks for listening ladies.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. The only thing worse than having a sick baby is having TWO sick babies!

Goodness, you have so much going on- you have every right to be stressed out! When my laid back LO is having a rough time, it seems so much more overwhelming. And, two sick babies is some seriously hard work. Sending some well baby vibes your way.

Oh, and can I just add that you are pretty amazing for doing Master's coursework with two infants!! I only slept about three hours per night during grad school and it was just me at home. I don't know how you are doing it!!

I'm sorry that the boys have ear infections - they're the worst and can't imagine it x2!! What meds are they on? There was one that DS was on that they warned us might turn his poop red. Good thing they warned us because it did!

That is it exactly. Thanks that is good to know. They put D omnicef this time since the amoxicillan didn't clear it up the first time.

Thanks ladies! You are great as usual. I guess the part I am struggling with is that D has not been 100 percent healthy since I have returned to work and it is getting to me. I just want my boys to be healthy.

Oh no! I am so sorry. Ear infections are the pits! Adding teething to the mix is a recipe for disaster. K&A have started teething too, and having two teething babies is tough! I wish I had some magic dust to make it better. Honestly, we gave DS Tylenol (and after six months Advil) when his teething was at its worst and it helped him sleep. We will do the same with K&A.

Try not to feel guilty about the time you spent with C over D this weekend. Just remember that fair is not always equal. It will all even out in the end. All Yu can do is your best, and it sounds like you are already doing that. Your boys are lucky to have you! I hope things get better soon hon!
