DD1 was taking what I thought was a really long, hard nap. Finally, at 4:00 I went back to her room to wake her up and I opened the door and the smell hit me. She had taken her diaper off and painted the entire room with the poop - I'm not exaggerating, the entire room was covered. It was on all of her toys, in between the pages of books, on all of the clothes in her drawers, in her bedding, on the walls, in the vent on the floor, on the blinds, and there was even a lovely brown finger-painting on the window for all of the neighbors to see.
Thank the good Lord that this happened on a day when DH is home, because it took me two hours to scrub carpet and get everything cleaned up. I'm not sure how I would have managed taking care of the girls while dealing with this mess.
The whole time I was scrubbing I kept thinking, "THIS is why people don't have children!" This experience will haunt me for years. After I showered I went to the store to get a bottle of wine because after what I went through I deserve it!
I don't know how I got so lucky, but Jack never did this. We had a couple of very minor poop-smearing incidents, but nothing like the horror stories I have heard from friends.
I fear I am doomed with future children.
This is my worst one by far. I've had a few minor incidents where they were in the crib and it all ended up staying in there or where they took the poopy diaper off in bed, so it just ended up on the bedding, but this is the first time I've ever had it everywhere. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. Let's just say that DD1 will be sleeping in blanket sleepers pinned at the zipper so she can't pull them down until she's completely potty-trained. There is no way I ever want to go through that again!!!!
That sounds awful ! We are very fortunate dd can't stand a thing on her hands. Or poopy diapers. If she poops, she comes and lays down and tells you to change her. You'd think she would just go on the potty, but that is too easy.
That's so disgusting! I have a feeling Drew is going to get me good with that because neither of his sisters ever touched inside their diaper. A good reminder to always make him wear a backwards sleep sack....
You deserve ALL the wine. Like, in the world. LOL.
Yes, yes...all of it!
We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013. We love her to pieces.
We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
The most difficult part of this story for me to believe is that fact that you have 4 children and didn't have any wine on hand.
Maybe having four kids just means it's drank so frequently that there is never any in the house
I videoed it for my sister, who demanded to see how bad it really was. Just in case you want to see the scope of what I was dealing with - watch at your own risk - https://youtu.be/uMtCtTGThFs
That video is horrifying. My jaw was dropped open for almost the whole thing. I don't even like alcohol, and I probably would have drank some that night. Haha.

OMG my DD1 did this. We call it the 'mental institution' incident. My DH wasn't home, so I took pictures of it and sent them to him at work begging him to come home and help me. After that, we started duct taping her diaper on. We can laugh about it now and we are especially amused by the 'dirty sanchez' she gave her favorite bunny toy.
OMG, that's so gross. You should get some chocolate and cupcakes as well.
My kid will forever live in snapped diapers!
I don't think I could have looked at chocolate that night after what I saw. lol
Snaps may not save you from this - DD was in a cloth diaper with snaps when this happened and miraculously, the diaper was just about the only thing in the room WITHOUT poop on it. She managed to take it off and just poop on the floor.
