Restless sleeper

My 9 week old daughter is a great sleeper, she is currently sleeping in the "cuddle cove" on top of the pack and play in our room.  When she naps in her crib she is very restless and doesn't sleep nearly as soundly, so I am worried about putting her in there for the night…not sure whether to give it more time or rip off the band aid??????

Re: Restless sleeper

  • By not sleeping as soundly do you mean she is waking up or does she just stir? If she wakes up then I say continue to introduce the crib slowly. If she stirs a bit but then sleeps I say rip off that bandaid.

  • Thank you for responding...She sleeps for very short periods of time (10-20 minutes) and then wakes herself up with her stirring and movements (she ends up doing a complete 180 in the crib).
  • Have you tried swaddling? It took my babe a few tries to get used to it, but she loves it and could not sleep without it. I have tried to wean her off the swaddle and she cannot sleep for more than 30 minutes without waking herself up. Good Luck!  Oh and I use the SwaddleMe wraps.

  • My LO does the 180 thing every single night even when swaddled. But I think that being swaddled helps her stay awake as she makes her rounds in her pack n play. I would also try playing white noise very loudly. And I agree with only swaddling at night. It is also good for your daughter to get some stretching and baby exercise in during the day out of her swaddle :)

  • I would definitely try swaddling as previous posters recommended. Hopefully that helps your LO stay asleep more calmly.
