Doidy cup success!

After reading @scormier123's post the other day about her LO lapping at milk like a cat from an open bottle, I ordered a Doidy cup. It arrived this morning (thank you amazon prime 2 day shipping!) and we tried it as soon as it was washed.

I put a half ounce of breastmilk in it. Right away, M grabbed the handles and pulled it to her mouth like it was her job! She then proceeded to just chew on it but once the milk hit her mouth, she stopped and looked at me like, "what the...." The first bit dribbled right back out of her mouth, but she was really into it, so we kept going. Then she actually started swallowing! She didn't lap at it, but drank like a normal drink from a cup, little by little. She ended up swallowing the rest of that half ounce! It was amazing. We are going to keep at it every day. I finally feel like a little stress has been lifted off me regarding her feeding. Phew!

I hope the rest of M's friends in the Bottle Haters Club find success too, with a cup or even a bottle!

    That sounds great. So glad it worked. I try sporadically with E and it's hit and miss but I'll keep at it.

    I'm ordering one because DS is obsessed with holding cups and putting them to his mouth. Since he rarely has a bottle, he doesn't do very well with them. I think he will like the cup a lot more. Hope your LO takes to it well!

    I've never seen this before! DD is always grabbing my water bottle and putting it to her mouth and licks it. Think I will give it a shot. Thanks for posting this!

    That is awesome!! Congrats! I know that is a relief. DS is still refusing bottles. I am trying to work on using a straw cup.

    I'm going to try this!  G is really hit or miss with a bottle, and I have major anxiety leaving him anywhere if he has to eat.

    That is so great! We started using the doidy cup when LO was 4 months old (she is now 6 months) after major frustration with a ton of different bottles. I just ordered two more!

    I had dreams about this cup last night even though I have never seen it. It definitely looked different in my dreams. I think I might order a few. They may be good for my 22 month old too.

    I think they would be good for all babies, then they can just skip the sippy cup stage and just drink right from an open cup. Hopefully that will work out for us, too.

    ETA if you go on YouTube and do a search for "Doidy cup," you can see several videos of babies and toddlers using them.
