Books that you absolutely love (for LO)

I started the tradition of getting a book as one of LO's christmas pressies last year, and writing in it instead of getting a card. But the book has to be something special and packed with meaning. So far, my top contender for this year is Sarah Thomson's Around the Neighborhood - it's based on an old folk lullaby, it's lovely and lyrical and a library copy is already on our bedtime story rotation - LO likes hearing it sung to her. It's just a cute simple tale of connectivity - introduces numbers and poetry and animals etc at the same time. Each page prefigures the animal featured on the next page in the distance somewhere, and LO likes looking for them.

But I'd love to know if you have any books that you absolutely love or plan to get your kiddo over the next few months! Trying to see what my other options might be.

I stink by Kate McMallan. I think that's how you spell it. It's lilahs fav. The whole series is awesome

We have Little Blue Truck Leads the Way, and it's definitely a favorite. It's about learning to take turns, it rhymes and is cute.

We love books by Olivier Dunrea. Our favorite is Boo Boo. There are several others, too.
