Swaddling

I swear my 6 week old hates it. She cries being in it after a few min and always manages to get out of it. How about yours?

Re: Swaddling

  • Mine loves it. He can be fussy and as soon as I swaddle him he is down for the count. But my DD's didn't care for it much. We did it for a few weeks and then stopped because it basically just pissed them off. But DS is 10 weeks and loves it.

  • I think that if you keep trying, she may learn to like it? My lo used to fuss a little and squirm, but now she loves it. I know people say that their babies didn't like it, and I am not saying that isn't true, but I do believe swaddling is natural to babies and if done correctly and with consistency, it can work. My baby does sometimes move about once swaddled and in her crib, but she is not unhappy...just moving. She has to have her arms swaddled in to fall asleep, but sometimes in the morning her arms are out and she is still good.

  • We leave LOs legs free, but swaddle his arms in and he calms down instantly

  • My baby doesn't like it either. She likes having her arms free. She's been this way since we brought her home from the hospital.
  • My baby needs to have her arms free, so we swaddle from the chest down. Not sure it helps much, but it probably keeps her a little warmer at least.
