Milk before bed??

For the last month my 2.5 yr old and for milk right before falling asleep. We've already brushed and are all tucked in, lights out. She has a few sips and goes to bed. I know to never put a baby down in bed with a bottle, would you consider my daughter asking for milk in bed to be the same?? Is it bad for her teeth??

Re: Milk before bed??

  • It's not good for her teeth. Milk has a lot of sugar in it. We don;'t give milk after dinner. If they want water, they can have it by their beds.

  • We do sips of water if asked for before bed.  It was milk back when I first weaned but gradually got her to accept that it was water or nothing.

  • My DD does the same thing!  All tucked in and wants milk.  I just tell her that it's water only, once the lights go out and she seems to be ok with it!  She might whine a little but then accepts the water lol.

  • It's not good for teeth. We do milk before bed but also before brushing teeth. He takes a sip of water while brushing teeth if he is still thirsty.
