Afternoon naps when you are out of house

I'm trying to get baby on nap schedule and so far the first nap is the longest in the morning about 2 hrs. But finding it hard to leave the house in the afternoon either to run errands etc because he will catnap in car And then resist a real nap in crib. Anyone have any suggestions ?

  • I try to do errands right when LO wakes. I feed her, change her, and away we go so she is awake as long as possible.

  • Yeah we have this problem, too. Once DS wakes from his morning nap, I try to nurse and then go out right away while he is pretty awake. Usually he will fall asleep in the car as we are coming home and then I can transfer him to the crib when we get back. But you definitely have to re-work your schedule around your baby.

Although I will say that some people are just totally "go with the flow," never really get on a solid schedule, and just roll with it... and it works for them.
