I ebf and Dd has reflux. I have a really fast flow and she's an efficient nurser.
This leads to 3-8 minute nursing sessions every 1.5-3 hours. She's fed on demand. I also do block feeding to preempt any foremilk imbalance.
In a 24 hour period, we go through 12-16 diapers. They're not all very wet, but DD screams if she's got a slightly wet diaper. It has to be changed immediately.
Should I be concerned? Does anyone else have a 3 month old still wetting this often? BTDT, what do you think?
Re: Too Many Diapers?
That does seem like a bit much. Did you ask the pediatrician about that?
LO gets changed every 2 hours while awake, so I'd say we go through about 9-11 diapers a day.
BFP 3/29/2014 2u2 Let's do this!
On the other hand I would be worried if she wasn't having any wet diapers or very few.
Oddly, she doesn't mind her poop diapers. And they are full as she goes up to 5 days between poos.
She also thinks I may just notice more since DD demands to be changed more. Some babies may wet 3 times and not really mind their diaper being changed until the third pee. That's one diaper for that baby and 3 for mine.
I still think it's odd. And so many people try to tell me she's not eating enough, I'm paranoid it could mean something else.

I swear my baby is like a cat when you clean the litter box; A fresh diaper hits her butt and she has to take advantage and pee.

As a FTM, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or doing anything wrong.
The thing that bothers me the most is that she has consistently only pooped once a day for the last 2 months. It's always a big explosive poop and then she'll do it every two days for a week then go back to once a day, then not poop for a few days. Weird.
I blame it on her dad, he can't stand to be messy either.
I wouldn't be concerned unless there's a foul smell or the urine is a dark. As pp said, if they did suspect UTI they'd most likely do a catheter. Sounds like she just doesn't like to be wet, lots of wet diapers sounds like she's in great health to me!
DD #2 2 years old (08/17/11)
DD #3 born 08/29/13
Our pedi did do some blood work just to check everything out since we also have some weight gain issues. Everything was fine except he's boardline anemic which the dr said wasn't abnormal at 2 months old
Mine too, then on Thursday she pooped 6 times! I don't even keep track unless it goes more than a few days, I feel like im preoccupied with her pooping
