For those of us celebrating christmas, just curious. I am super nostalgic, it drives DH crazy but I love EVERYTHING about christmas. We're taking a trip to Bronner's next week (for those of you non michaganders google it!)

Re: When Is Your Tree Going Up?
We aren't putting up a tree this year. We would have to rearrange our living room and move some furniture to the garage to get our tree up and I just don't want to deal with that right before baby is due. I told DH he could "Griswald" the outside of the house to his heart's content, but I don't feel like dealing with inside decorations this year.

I will not be putting any outside decorations up until we come back from holiday. Also, where we put our tree, you cannot really see it in the window. Hopefully, no one will notice I am a crazy American

For the last several years, we've actually put up the Christmas stuff the weekend before Thanksgiving (insane, I know!)... But we're Christmas nerds, and we travel 5 hours away for Thanksgiving weekend - so it's nice to come home from the hectic weekend and have everything done and ready to just enjoy.
We might still do that this year... Although, since we aren't making many plans in December - maybe we'll just wait til the weekend after Thanksgiving... My guess is the decorations might get left up longer than usual - so there will be plenty of time to enjoy it! Lol.

SO's family have always had real trees. We all go out and pick out a tree the week or so before Christmas then we all help decorate his moms tree. His mom leaves her tree up until twelfth night and its one of the traditions that we do as a family.
Other than the tree though, all of my Christmas decorations go up Dec 1st.
