Today my DH, E and I start our trip down to fl. I slept for 2-3 hours but not because Eva was up or anything just because I'm anxious and couldn't sleep. Today we plan to drive to VA and stop there overnight. Tomorrow night we will be stopping at my ILs in SC and on Sunday or Monday we will drive the rest of the way to fl. I'm stressed about how Eva will handle these long days and the change in circumstances. Looking back I really should've take some PM medicine to get some rest. Wish us luck on our long haul please!

(When we drove to MA from NJ - nowhere near the drive to FL, but a good chunk of time - it helped, both LO and me, to sit next to him in the backseat and play... especially because he didn't nap for very long at a clip either, it was good to be there when he woke up and was bored...)

We made it to sc today! E has been such a trooper. I sat in the back with her so I could give her a bottle and play with her. Only some minor issues like spit up from not burping her while in the car and a blow out. Otherwise so far so good! Thanks for the well wishes

@silv3rlining I hope it goes well for you guys! I formula feed so she's used to the bottle. I would personally recommend pumping and giving her a bottle (if your LO takes it) because then you can wait to stop just to burp and walk her. Believe me even 7-10mins x 5 times per day really adds up and for us it was important to get places before it was nighttime.

Thanks. Yes I understand about car sickness. I get it also. I started in the front yesterday but when e started fussing and I couldn't just today with her we were stopping every 40 minutes which was a real pain. Finally I sat in the back and it worked. Just an FYI we travelled on an 8 hour car trip when E was 1 month and she slept a lot more then than she did now. Hope you find something that works for you guys!

Some experienced mamas I know drive overnight so the LOs sleep the whole ride. Either way seems tough, though. Kudos, mama!
