  • Meh.. I don't know.  I don't think one or two licks would hurt but I probably wouldn't do it.  I have let LO lick fruit bar popsicle so maybe that's similar.  Not really something I'd judge too harshly, probably.

I think if it was just a taste that would be one thing, eating it is a no no though. Way to much sugar for lo. And there is WAY to much salt in a pickle.

Pickles are one of Li's favorites. She ate them all the time when she finally started solids.

  • no, we're not doing sugary sweets until a long long time from now. (if it's in my power anyway)

Also, don't recall the science or source, but babies don't digest sugar like we do, it can't possibly be good for them.

  • Nope.  A neighbor gave me a sucker last night and said she would be able to have it.  I'm thinking- no way but took it because I knew DH/I would eat it.  :)

No. I'm a food Nazi. Even when she's four, there will be no candy.

No, I don't even give one to my 2 year old.

  • F. No. If I'm not cool with giving her pureed organic veg at 4 months, I sure as hell wouldn't give her a sucker full of high fructose corn syrup and red dye #40. Yuck.

  • Umm... NO!! I saw a picture where a friend of mine was letting her DD ride in a car with just the seatbelt on. No car seat. Her DD is a year younger than mine and so... 3. Big no no.... Just saying. A lot of wacko's out there this year.
  • What is wrong with people? One of my mom's coworker's daughter gave her 4 month old a twinkie...yes, you read that right...a whole twinkie.   @-)

The baby and I took SO lunch at work yesterday and while we were in the parking lot eating in the car, we took Luke's picture sitting in the passengers seat with the seatbelt because he looked so cute. I sent it to my mom with the caption "already too big for the carseat lol." She thought I was seriously going to drive around like that. Um no! But I guess people are probably that dumb sometimes!

Really? What are people thinking? A lick of a sucker maybe but not the whole thing, that is way too much sugar. My mom put a tiny bit of cheesecake on her finger and let DS lick it off.

  • She posted a picture of her today in her high chair eating her first "meal" Looks like a few different kinds of baby food, at least its not pickles and suckers. And there was a sippy cup in the picture.

I swear she thinks her baby is older than she is...her baby was born 4 hours after mine. I'm no where near that stage yet!

  • Choking hazard.
  • FTR, I could care less about sugars or dyes, I won't give it to my kids because it's dangerous.
