Can you all throw out some super cute favor ideas? I like the idea of something practical/useful or something delicious. Boy or gender neutral. THANK YOU!
Theme is still TBD and it's very casual so I can do anything. approx 20 people or less. Would like to have the favor be really nice since it is a smaller shower
If the shower is this fall, you could do chocolate covered apples. Either make or order from a local candy shop. I got them for my daughter's bridal shower last fall and they went over very well. Can tie a blue bow or one that goes with the theme, around the stick. I also ordered stickers from Zazzle that said thank you for attending and the date and put it on the cellophane of each apple. Another food if you want to go cheaper or easier is Lindt chocolate balls wrapped in cellophane.
Yes, I was going to point you in the direction of party city as well! They have tons and tons of party favors in store and online. They have picture holders, little candles, tons of stuff baby and gender neutral.
You can also get all certain colored candy, put it out like people do for weddings, the candy "bar" thing and then provide little bags for people to take some home if they want to.
I'm not doing "favors" but we are going to have some candy for people. We colored some mini Hershey bars with the he/she pink and blue. Also I have a bag of mints, my mom has a bunch of baseball gumballs.
I was at a shower where they gave out cute kitchen timers. It was shaped like an egg and when the time was up a chick popped up through the top. LOVED it! We still use it, and think of the great time we had when I see it.
I'm going to get the mini hand sanaziers from Bath and Body Works for a shower I'm hosting. The idea is keeping baby healthy during cold and flu season but really I have a gift card to BBW and don't need anything for my house right now. I'm going to tie ribbon around them to make them a little more fancy.
I am also having a boy my MIL is giving out mini hand sanitizer and moisturizer. she put them in a cute box with a sticker that goes really weell with the theme. i thought it was a great idea!
I prefer not to hand out edible favours since I have so many different allergies. Since I have some severe food allergies I respect that other people might have them too. My friends and family know this though, so it's not taken poorly.
I really liked the favour where we all received picture frames. During the shower we all got a picture with the mother to be and the pictures were included with the thank you cards. I thought it was a nice keepsake.
Picture frames are a nice idea, my SIL did that for her shower.... If you're going to go non-edible, I would say do this. Most other non-edible favors I have seen in the past are just trinkets that will eventually go by the wayside anyways...
Food favors, maybe chocolate covered strawberries? Or make something, and have an alternate in case someone is allergic to certain foods?
My mom bought bottles of OPI nail polish for my shower as the favors. My aunt is a cosmetologist so she gets things half off at CosmoProf-- so instead of $9-10/each they were $4 or $5. It was a smaller shower (about 25 people) and we have 3 or 4 colors to choose from on a table near the cake. My shower was also a jungle theme so my mom made tags out of zebra/giraffe/cheetah print scrapbooking paper that said thanks for coming, etc.
I'm hosting my sister's baby shower at the beginning of December so for the favors, I'm putting hot cocoa mix with marshmallows and crushed peppermints in mason jars. I'll probably tie a ribbon or something around it to make it look festive. Like this possibly:
OMG this is AMAZING!!! I would love to get something like this as a shower favor. Honestly, "keepsakes" usually go right in the garbage so why waste the money?
I love edible things but honestly, this idea is the best I've seen yet!
My sister made cake pops and they were delicious and very popular!

thanks all. I decided to go with a bottle of wine (I know a guy who owns a liqour store and would get them for me at cost which is VERY cheap, we are getting ripped off !!) and homemade truffles. I did cake pops for the last shower I threw and they were a HUGE hit. But they're a good deal of work
