We just rented an apt and I'm not wanting to spend a ton of cash on it, but we need barstools. Our counters are granite, cabinets a light maple color with nickel handles and we have a stainless fridge. Okay I like #2 and 4. I know they are totally opposite too haha.

What color is your granite and is the room open to the family room - if so what are the colors in there? I like 3 or 4, so black or brown depending on the other colors in the area.

My vote is for 2 as well. We really like having backs on our bar-stools since we eat at the bar regularly.
