I got my PGD results today (I wasn't expecting them until Monday) and both embryos are genetically normal! I'm so relieved. I was so scared I wasn't going to have a healthy one and then I'd have to do another retrieval. I'll go for monitoring tomorrow and start prepping for a FET later this month. One more hurdle to go....

    I don't mean to pry but most PGD testing is extremely expensive and usually not covered under insurance. I was just wondering if you have other risks factors that prompted you to take this route.

    If it's too personal, please don't fee you have to share.

    @breeanne1974 A combination of factors led us to do the PGD testing. Our Dx is unexplained and we were tested for everything under the sun after my loss at 15 weeks. Everything came back normal. However, my age (38) puts us at risk for a trisomy. I have a few friends who learned that half or more of their embryos had issues after PGD testing. I'm a teacher, which in NJ means I have excellent insurance. Thus everything but the PGD & the cryopreservation is covered. So paying $4500 in order to reduce my chances of another loss seemed like a good investment. I guess you could say it was a waste b/c my only 2 blasts are normal, but for me the peace of mind is worth it. If you are interested and don't want to pay for it, ask your clinic about research. Mine is often conducting studies that allow people to have PGD testing for free.

    ETA: I think my phone deleted a phrase as I was writing, so part of this didn't make sense. I fixed it.

    5w6d 1 hb 109 and 2nd smaller sac; 7w0d 1 hb 125 and confirmed vanishing twin

    Congratulations! So happy for you.  
    breeanne1974 we paid for the testing as well, and out of 7 embryos we only had one that was normal.  My clinic encourages it and as heart breaking as it was at the time, I feel totally better about doing the testing.  Age is a huge factor, and I have DOR.  We both came back as normal, but you never know.  I am in great favor of testing.
