Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit Follow-up

I know we had a thread a day (or a few days... I can't remember) about the sleep suit. For those ladies that have purchased it, how are you finding it?

For those of you who haven't and were debating it, I just ordered mine, I don't know why people keep saying it's $100, you can actually buy 2 of them for $70 or 1 for $40. Also, if you like their facebook page you get a 15% discount. Obviously mine is a bit more expensive with international shipping, but still. I just thought I'd let you guys know since everyone seemed really interested in them.

@BellaOso Thanks for the recommendation. I hope it works for us.

Re: Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit Follow-up

  • I hope it does too! :) Mine was $39.95 on Amazon. We own 2. One from the last baby and we sold some stuff to buy a second back-up one. I made a joke about being willing to pay $100 for a good night sleep prior to getting it. I wonder if that is where it people thinking it was $100 came from.

She got 7 hours and 4 hours last night. This is up from 2-3 hours being our longest regular stretches.

I really hope it works for you!

  • Question- does it just keep the baby from startling awake or is it slightly weighted?
DD is becoming too strong and too big to stay in her swaddle me. She doesn't really startle herself much anymore, but she acts like its a 24 hour dance party when she isn't swaddled. Her arms are constantly moving!
I'm wondering if the suit would help her "relax"...

    Thanks!

@cinderin I got a small. Its weight range is 12 to 18 pounds (roughly 3-6 months). They suggest you start using it at 3(ish) months, which is where we're at. The large is for 6-9 months and we hope to have transitioned her out of it by then.

@Kebert618 mine is the same way. She rolls over and sleeps on her front so she can't really startle herself. But she'll spin in her sleep and shimmy up and down the mattress. I'm hoping this will keep her more stationary. I don't THINK it's actually weighted, it's just difficult for them to move around in.

    Eta: posted too soon

I am wondering this also. My lo is swaddled with one arm out (otherwise he fights it) and it was going great until 2 nights ago he started to get his arm stuck in the crib slats and was waking up every 45 minutes.
  • I also got it from Amazon. We have prime, so free shipping.

I tried it yesterday, but dd screamed. I feel like it's hard to get her arms in. She hates getting dressed, so it didn't really surprise me.

I will try again tonight. BTDT, does it make diaper changes difficult? We still do 3-4 overnight diaper changes.

Little tip - Don't put her arms down the arm hole. Just put her fists in them so when she stretches her arms they slide down themselves. Same with the feeties. I learned that after 2 babies. :)

What a good idea! I'll let H know, he gets all pissy with trying to dress her.
