Reveal ideas please :)

We have our anatomy scan on Nov 27th the day before thanksgiving! So we decided to have a surprise reveal for both of our families that day. We are not telling anyone when we are having our scan done so they know nothing.

What I am looking for is basically unique and cheap ways of doing the reveal....other than balloons in a box, or colored cake. I have looked on pintrest but found nothing that I really liked so I thought I would ask on here

I've seen a cute idea for STMs. Mom wears a white shirt and older DD or DS uses pink or blue finger paint and puts handprints all over the shirt. I don't know how well that would work in person though. I'll keep thinking about it.

You could do a game like a scavenger hunt/hint trail. Or a pumpkin reveal. Empty out a pumpkin, fill it with something pink or blue, then put the "lid" back on it and use it as a decoration/centerpiece until it's time. Or get black balloons, fill them with the right color confetti, and have the family members count down and then pop them.

I found the cutest idea for a gender reveal - diy scratch off cards! All it takes is a little bit of paint, dish soap, and laminate paper. It's what I'm doing! Just google diy gender reveal scratch off cards for the instructions.

I agree with pp. Go around the table saying what you are thankful for and you could say "sugar and spice and everything nice" or "frogs and snails and puppy dog tails."

You and your significant other/ husband each take a different color balloon... Pink and blue. Poke a hole in one so only the gender of the baby blows up. Try to blow them up at the same time!

We did felt fortune cookies I announce we are having a girl. So maybe if you have the reveal with the place settings like under the napkins or the drinks.

I am keeping it extra simple...lol. Family will find out 2 mins after I do...lol. via text. But my oldest daughter (14) will see a bear on her bed after school that says "it's a ____"! She loves all things stuffed and will enjoy this. She had me take her to Build-A-Bear to make one for her now 2 y.o. sister.

Would you be willing to keep it a surprise for yourselves even? And find out at the same time as your family? I know that's not for everyone, but I bet your family would love to see your reaction (unless you're going to cry if you get one sex over the other, lol). If that's an option for you, I love the balloon idea for that! You could take the sealed envelope (from your sonographer) and give it to the clerk at the store where you buy a pink and blue balloon. Tell them to poke a hole in one balloon. Then on Thanksgiving when everone is sitting around, you each try to blow one up like @MandaRose921 suggested.

I just ordered my cake On the 15th I'll take them the envelope so they can put the appropriate coloured filling between the layers and I'll pick the cake up on the 17th to take to have lunch with our immediate families.

You could make a cute photo card of you and your DH in revealing t-shirts or holding a sign that says it's a boy or it's a girl with a cute slogan on it that plays up Thanksgiving such as "something new to be thankful for... Our baby (girl) (boy)" or something like that and you could give everyone a greeting card with that photo and that way it's a surprise when they open it and you can say something personally to each of them to make it more special, and maybe tell them why you are also thankful for them. I think that would be really precious and it has a nice, thoughtful touch.

A friend of mine posted these photos below on facebook to reveal her baby boy. I can't use it, it'd be blatantly copying...so someone else might as well! I thought it was super cute!
