Gas pains?

I assume I am having gas pains right now. It's a sharp pain under my left rib cage that extends to the middle of my stomach. It hurts to press down on it or stand up straight. I was having these pains yesterday also and on Saturday. I can't seem to get rid of them. Is there anything we can do for gas pains?
