OT I am an 80 year old...

... In a 25 year old's body. I haven't updraded my phone in over four years and after busting it all to hell and having it randomly shut off all the time now, J has pretty much demanded I replace it. So today I just got a new smart phone for the first time. I hate it. I hate technology. Grrrr. Mother effer.

LOL. I got my first smart phone about 2 weeks ago. So far I like it, but I had to delete Candy Crush because I was spending way to much time playing it!

I love mine, but I only use it to Bump, use Reddit, and check FB with some texting and phone calls mixed in. My grandparents have smartphones too. It's the way of the world now. Flip phones are a dying breed.

I still do not have a smart phone...so I guess that makes me 81?

When I drop my phone, the back cover pops off and the battery falls out. I can't tell you how many times I've been on my hands and knees in the parking lot searching for the pieces of my phone.

Lol, mine would shut off when I dropped it, and this morning the seven key popped out and wouldn't go back in. I would have been fine using that phone until the day I died. J was always annoyed though because if my phone was in my pocket, or if A had it and hit more than three keys in two seconds, or sometimes randomly when I would open it... it would just shut off. And I'd never realize it, so he'd try to call and my phone would just be dead. He tries to get in touch with me frequently about scheduling stuff for the business, and typically needs an answer immediately, but my phone was always dead.

After a few hours it's growing on me a little. I'm not going to use any of the features of it, though, except for maybe the navigation. When I got my iPad I got lost in hours of stupid games like that. I'm fiiiinally getting caught up with everything, I can't be wasting too much time (except for maybe valuable bump time!). I don't even want to look up candy crush! Haha.

Yeah, Candy crush was deleted for a good six months for that very reason...way too much time spent on it

I mostly use mine to take pictures. I no longer have enough memory on my phone to put any games on it besides the four that I have and rarely play (except for Sudoku...I'm kinda obsessed with that right now).

I so could totally not play CC or any game while nursing G anymore. He's so darn curious. The other night I took my ponytail holder out & set it in the nightstand right at the beginning of our session. He stopped.every.5.seconds. to look at it & whine hoping I'd give it to him. Then when we were done nursing & I did give it to him, he looked at it for 2 seconds and threw it down. Grrr.

I have to make sure my shirts aren't too interesting now. M will just stare and talk to the patterns instead of nursing.

I'm getting rid of mine. We don't have great service, and if I use it twice a month, that's it... so at a $60 minimum for available service packages for my particular phone (isn't canada great?) 30$/per call is way too much......

I had my data turned off on my phone and didn't purchase a data package. So although I had a smart phone, it was dumb. Is that an option for you?

Wow... I feel like the odd duck. I'm completely in love with my iPhone. In fact, when we moved to Germany, I insisted that we find a plan that would allow me to keep it (cell phone plans are wonky here). We even get pay-as-you-go SIM cards when we visit foreign countries so we can still have data on one of our phones.

LOL! Blackberry Z10 you see here and there, but even the guy at the cell phone kiosk thought I was nuts for wanting the basic Curve. DD has fun pretending to talk on my phone and it's proven to be very durable.

My DH works for a major wireless company, which just feeds my smartphone addiction. I've had one since they came out. Of course, when he reached the 5 year mark for getting free phones they discontinued the benefit. At least we get cheap monthly service!

I'm also 32
