Night Crew Check In...

Hello Momma's! I didn't see this thread started yet.. How is everyone's night going? I am exhausted, by every definition of the word. On top of doing 100% of the night time feedings for LO on a daily basis (whether I work or not) and working from 11am-7:30pm .. and then pulling a grave (10pm-7am) I am spent! I'm doing the grave shift from home and am a little nervous of how it is going to go once LO wants to eat.. Its a phone job, so if a call comes in I have to take it. But with it being 1am, it should hopefully be pretty slow.

QOTN: What is the longest stretch of sleep your LO has given you so far.. and how old?

My LO's longest stretch was 6.5 hours.. it only happened once and he is 3 months!

Re: Night Crew Check In...

  • Wow, kudos to you! Those are some crazy hours! You'll do great! Hopefully LO does well :)

QOTN: My LO's longest stretch so far was actually lastnight.. 5.5 hours, but he had his 2 month shots yesterday so I'm guessing that has something to do with it! He probably would have slept longer but I (and my boobs) couldn't stand him going any longer without eating!

QOTN: DS slept a glorious 8h8m stretch at 2.5 months old

  • Pretty good night so far, we got 5 solid hours in before eating! I am still exhausted so hopefully she will go back down for another long stretch.

QOTN: 6 hours for two nights in a row and thst was just last week. DD is 10 weeks old.

Just now up for the first feeding! I think LO is trying to start sttn....we'll see if the trend continues.

Qotn: longest stretch was 8.5 hours last Monday. Tonight she did 7.5 hours. Now I just need to learn to go to bed when she does so I can get that kind of sleep!

Edit words are tricky at 4am

I agree.. We fight about this constantly. He works full time and has an hour commute.. I work part time from home. Once his schedule is better he WILL be doing some night feedings!
  • Our longest stretch was tonight, 5.5 hours and he's 8 weeks Friday. Much better than the up every 2 hours of the other night! He's not so interested in going back down, but at least our first stretch was a long one.
  • LO has stopped breathing for 15 seconds twice tonight (angelcare monitor). At least I know a. It works and b. I can run like a bat out of hell before I even know what's going on.

QOTN: I'm sure we did a poll on this at one point. I can't remember what the results were though.
Our LO gave us 6 hours last week. But her stretches are becoming consistently longer (usually 4-5 hours long) at 10 weeks.

  • You're an amazing Mom keeping those long hours and doing all the MOTN feeds!

We are up for feeding #2 of 3-4. Dd is asleep on my boob and now I'm scared to move her.

QOTN; 4 hours at 2 months. It hasn't happened recently though. I am grateful for the 3 hour stretch we just had! It's much better than the 90 minute ones we've had this week.

I'm sorry you've had those scares, but glad LO is okay! I love that monitor!!
  • Omg @Zever000 what a scary way to wake up! Thank goodness for that monitor!
I've been up half the night finishing the frosting of my Halloween cookies (I'm gonna AW them here!) I'm so excited for tomorrow I think cause DS1 is at the age where he's excited to see all this cool Halloween stuff (and I'm giving him his first candy bar tomorrow).
QOTN: LO has consistently been sleeping from 8pm to 5am for a week now, so 9 hours. I'm so blessed to have a good sleeper. Now if only I could get my ass to bed at 8pm and actually take advantage of that full time.

Yes, she's fine, thank goodness. It beeps after 15 seconds and that woke her up enough to get her breathing again. Of course I'm still a wreck for the rest of the night. I don't know what I'd do without that thing.

@AprilRaine those cookies look amazing! I really want cookies now.

    Eta: posted too soon.

  • Longest stretch is tonight, actually still going, he went down at 10 and it's 620, unfortunately I woke up an hour ago with my boobs in so much pain, and I couldn't go back to sleep since I'm a belly sleeper, took me an hour to finally get up and pump just a small amount so I could be comfortable, I was afraid lo would wake up right after I pumped. Now that I pumped a bit I'm sure he'll wake up any second now

I am so glad she is ok! That's scary.... And isn't it nuts that we have reflexes like that? Our Mom brains are always on I guess!

  • @zever000 does she have a condition or something you are watching regarding the breathing? I only ask because my LO still stops breathing occasionally. I asked her pedi at her 2 month apt last week and he said it is still normal at this age.
Not saying its nbd...it scares the crap out of me every time it happens. But it is a normal thing for babies if that can give you any comfort.
  • My LO makes this gasping for air noise that scares the crap out me. Pediatrician said it was normal when asked yesterday, but I still don't like it :-/

She doesn't have a condition or anything like that. And I know babies have super irregular breathing patterns. I'll be the first to admit that I'm paranoid, but she REFUSES to sleep on her back and sometimes stuffs her face into the mattress in her sleep. I just wasn't sleeping anymore because I was so worried all the time, so I got the monitor so I could actually close my eyes. Sometimes I wonder if my baby is suicidal, haha.

@Lorjo2022 mine does that too. It's normal, but I hate it as well.

Oh I don't blame you for worrying one bit. I feel like I would be on higher alert if mine were on her tummy too. If that monitor gives you comfort then good, I'd say is a great investment!
I think as mothers it is so hard not to worry about them. If it wasn't the breathing it would be something else. Keep watch mommy, you're doing great :)
  • @LokiLahve aw, thanks! I'm always worried about something! H thinks I'm a spaz. ;)
