I guess I just want sympathy from ladies that understand. I'm just so miserable & uncomfortable. I can barely walk & have to sleep sitting up. I had a failed frozen cycle in September & was so hopeful about this fresh one. Now they are talking about tapping my tummy & recommending I do not transfer embryos. I am so blessed to have my itty bitty one year old & she's keeping me strong through this. How long does it take to stop & how severe was yours? Did you transfer embryos or no?

I'm sorry you are going thru this! I had late onset OHSS, which happened after my ET. I had a mild-mod case, so no tapping was required. The symptoms improved a lot by 2 weeks. Hope yours resolve soon. I found that by eating a very high protein diet and drinking a ton of coconut water helped. I prefer coconut water over Gatorade (I didn't like the chemical flavors nor the sugar calories).

Mine was VERY bad! I was hospitalized and had my bely drained 4 times... Not fun at all! I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, we did not do a transfer that time, we had to wait and cycle a month later...

Sorry your not doing well, i hope you bounce back faster than I did!

((Hugs)) I'm sorry you are feeling so crappy. I had OHSS during my first IVF. We decided to cancel about 3 days before I would have been ready for ER. My RE said if we chose to continue to ER, we would have had to freeze and I would have needed a paracentesis. It took about 2.5 weeks to feel normal again after stopping meds. It took 5 days to sit without pain. Feel better momma.

I was warned at the start of my cycle that I"m at high risk for OHSS and that I'd likely have to do a freeze all. So by the time it actually happened I was at peace with not being able to do a transfer. Also, I felt soooooooo sick. But guess what? The second that hcg leaves your system, you feel so much better. The relief is amazing. And a freeze all cycle gives you time to heal. Just throwing out some positives.

Yeah, I don't think I can transfer any. I look like I'm 26 weeks right now & I think they are going to tap me tomorrow. I'm so embarrassed when I see people I know I hope this once does the trick!

Lots of Gatorade and rest. Hopefully one tap does the trick. Good luck and feel better!
