There was talk of a Newb FAQ, but I'm not sure what could be added that is different enough from the J14 FAQ that I already posted. Also, I saw that some boards have a name post... I could start a name post and then add it to the J14 FAQ if you'd like. Or is that dumb? LMK.

I absolutely agree. We decided 3 was the max amount of stickies we'd ever have at once, but I prefer 2 as well.

Maybe in Dec we could do a freezer meals sticky? For those that want to prep food for PP. I saw it on Dec 13 and thought it was a great idea.

I don't see the "hospital bag" sticky anymore, but was wondering if we could add things to buy or do before LO comes that will be useful as I am a FTM and have NO CLUE! Sorry if this was mentioned I don't remember seeing it.

For example: freeze prepared meals, are there specific creams for the vag to help ease pain or things you should get if you know that you're having a c section (band? ), how many nursing bras, how long do you need big pads for etc ...

The only thing that MIGHT help is something to really draw the newbies attention - even if that means changing the title of the FAQ to "Read Me First" and "Newbies start here" or something.

Although, I think sticking a weekly "eye candy" post isn't a bad idea either. :-D

Also, maybe we can create a "Preparing For Labor/After Delivery" post?? That's a good idea and can even be added into the FAQ so that it's no a seperate sticky post.

ETA: Thought of something! Let us all make a pact (haha) that if someone asks about something that is a sticky thread, we only reply with "Check the J14 FAQ, please"

For the L&D sticky, could we either keep adding the links and things to the original post, or have people limit posts to only announcements? It's going to get long and hard to sort through if people use it as a place for discussions/congratulations.

I think less is better right now. I do like the idea of the preparing for labor/after delivery sticky as something we could add in a little bit.

I like the thought of having two permanent stickies and one rotating sticky. For example, labor and delivery tips, or freezer meals are great, but come February 1st we aren't going to give a crap about hospital bags or any of that. Instead we'll care about tips for helping sleep through the night, how often your baby eats and how much. Later on, sleep training tips, weaning tips, etc. Know what I mean?

Also, February 2014 has a bullying vs. snark post as a sticky. I think adding something like that for the newbs who will call us meanie poo poo heads might not be a bad idea in the FAQ or newbie post.
