What makes you feel old?

I swear, lately I am constantly being made to feel old. The latest--I was looking at pictures on Facebook from the wedding of a friend from middle school. I saw a picture of her little brother who I still think of as being 11, and he is completely bald. No! My grandfather is bald, not the kid who had us cut his hair in the kitchen after school!

So what makes you feel old?

I always feel ancient when I run into people that were friends with my younger brother and they're, like, grown men and woman who are leading full, accomplished lives. It's surreal... They're still little snotty kids to me.

I used to babysit a neighbors boy when I was younger... uhh.. boy just had a baby. Yikes!!

@larkin220 I am the same age as you. Don't know if that would make you feel any better lol.

What makes me feel old? Lately (pretty much since I have had baby#4 and been horribly sleep deprived) I have been getting words mixed up in sayings. Like tonight I kept calling candy corn, caramel corn and my kids corrected me. I guess that is the part that makes me feel old, the kids correcting me lol.

When kid i knew from infants tower over me and have man voices, if they were boys. Also when people at parties call me out on my gray hairs in front of everyone. Yes that happened this weekend. Mortification. I have cellulite on my ass also, would you like to point that out to everyone as well?!

They've started playing my favorite songs on the local "oldies" station. WTH. I mean, most stuff I really like is from the 90s. And then I switch to the other stations and I don't know the songs or care to listen to them, which also makes me old.

Today! I went to buy a new crossbody bag...the one I found was a Marc by Marc Jacobs. I couldn't decide if it was to young for me! (I just turned 32) I told DH that I couldn't buy it because I might be too old! haha!

Well anyway...I bought the bag and when I brought it home, my husband said, 'I can see what you mean about it looking too young!'.

Augh...

Watching Back to the Future and realizing that in part II they go 30 years into the future all the way to 2015. I was a kid when part II came out and I remember sitting at the movie theater thinking " Wow, 2015, we probably will have hovercars by then."

Now, he we are a little over one year away from 2015 and no hovercars.

My aunt turned 40 and had a baby 9 days later.
I feel old when I think that my oldest niece is driving, and that my baby cousin is in her first year of university.

A lot of things make me feel old! DH and I have become friends with a "new" couple, and they are both 10 years younger than me and 14 years younger than DH! But they are super cool and their son is just 3 months younger than DD.

DH's best buddy from high school is about to become a GRANDPA!! Yikes. He's 39 and his son is 22.

I graduated 17 years ago and my class is already planning the 20 year reunion - ugh!!

When one of the girls I babysat when she was 6 months old is graduating high school this year.

Our church does a youth lunch every Wednesday for the kids in the high school. They pay a toonie and get a hot lunch. Our ladies Bible study served the lunch yesterday. I think I made my sister feel old when I pointed out that she had graduated high school before any of the kids who came to lunch yesterday had even been born. And then I made myself feel old when I realized that I was only a couple years behind her and that the younger ones hadn't been born when I graduated high school either.

Don't you worry i'm 26 and i've had grey hair for a few years!! I would have been very grateful if they had held off until 33. At this rate I'll be all grey by the time i'm 40.

Hey, happy birthday!

One of my favorite students who graduated a couple years ago is married and now expecting her first child. While teenagers having babies is kind of nothing new for me and never really made me feel old when I was teaching, this kind of grown-up behavior does.
